I'm from the US and I'm curious about what the rest of the world thinks. I appreciate honest answers, so don't worry about offending.

LOL!!!! The one thing I keep seeing is the dislike for loud/rude Americans. Heck, I'm American and I don't appreciate the loud, rudeness of others either.

I like the Americans, I just don't like it when they ask me "are you from London?" when I have a broad Northern English accent.

Americans are decent, hard working people, just like the rest of the world!

Americans abroad in countries like England, Germany, France are generally considered ill mannered and loud. If not downright rude. Not so many years ago while living in England I had to escort an American couple for a week. The whole time it was where can I get a real "American" burger or steak or drink. Instead of enjoying the differences in cultures they demeaned the country and it's traditions. I have also met Americans that reveled in the taste and culture of Europe and were a joy to be around. But it is the ones that do not hat leave the lasting impression.

Although I have relatives in the US and multiple friends, I do have to say that American's (not picking on either men or women, but both together) can be extremely rude, especially to us Canadians. It's almost like a good portion, not saying ALL just a vast majority, think you are superior to us like we are nothing more than a pimple that you can't get rid of cause of the border that holds us together. And I realize that not all americans are rude and obnoxious, but I have to say that the majority that I have to contact on a weekly basis are very much so.

Sorry to be so blunt.

the world always hates the superpowers!
as people your pretty much disconnected from the other modern worlds eg; Europe
makes some of you guys a bit ignorant to us lot.
i think thats what people don't like is ignorance to the fellow countries! from an english point of view we are very protective of our language and our history. we also dont take too kindly to loud abnoxious americans either.
but we have issues aswell.
i have met some of my best friends from the states (the ones that travelled)
its all bollox really, every country, every town, every village has idiots that give all of us a bad name.
pity yours is called Bush!
but i'm thinking if you are asking this question, you are probably not in anyway the above mentioned things.

im from south america, i never had bad thoughts or didnt like people from the u.s.

the problem is the government, thats how you guys get a bad rap. if your government didnt get in countries when they are not called i think everybody would feel more in favor of the u.s.

when i was growing up i remember all this wars that were going on and i heard the adults talking about the government, and in school, the kids and teacher would say the same. that the government in the u.s. its always getting in the middle of everything.

think about it, right now with this irak war, the president lie about the weapons and then he change it to liberation war and terror. back in 2001 the whole world was behind you, then it all went down badly.

this of course is only my opinion.

I am American and appreciate all we've got but realize that we live in a land of greed and excess.
