Do reconcider wanting a monkey for a pet. I had one for 8 very LONG years. A Capucian or organ grinder monkey. The cage must be cleaned more then once a day in warm weather or you will not like the smell. In less their canines have been cut they can deliver a very painful and nasty bite. Theycan not be house broke as birds, monkeys and other tree dwelling animals have it bred into them not to care where their droppings go as they usually fall to the ground below. I did have dogs at the time but the best thing is seperation for safty reasons. My monkey killed 2 kittens in the time I had him as they are experts at escape from their cages. Very sad.
They can totally distroy a cage in no time as they will work the bars in any weak spot until the metal breaks. expect to spend a lot just keeping it comtained so you can leave the house and come back to it as you left it. Nothing I say can prepare you for the damage and mess of coming home to a loose pet monkey.
Plus if he bites someone visiting you or when you have him out you better have good insurance. Monkeys are cute ..yes! but not a good house pet. Enjoy them at the zoo.

Depends on size and age, I'd say. If they are young, there is a chance that they may learn to play together and get along (Koko the gorilla once lovingly cared for a kitten...)
If they're adult and pretty set in their ways, it may not be a good idea and they may fight.
If the dogs are very large or the monkeys are very large, the larger animal may terrorize the smaller one.
This is my best guess, I'm not a zoologist but I like to think I know animals better than most people.

Co-existing in harmony doesn't necessarily mean that humans couldn't hunt animals or vice versa but that each didn't negatively impact the other as a whole. Most conflict arises when humans move into an animal's natural habitat e.g. the conflict between humans and tigers in Indonesia. If you want actual examples where this is happening, have a look around your neighbourhood. There are probably many animals that coexist with you - birds, insects and small mammals.

Having a monkey in the home is a real chore. I assume you know you have to put diapers on them and they cannot be house trained. I would not put a monkey and a dog together unless you are a trained animal behaviorist. It could be disastrous for your and the animals.

I guess it depends on the dog and the monkey. Some monkeys actually have pet dogs but they tend to get very possesive and scary. The monkey might think the dog is its pet, not yours.

i guess it really depends on how you're going to work things out. you have to teach them to share. however, animals arent like human beings, they dont fight the way we do.
