I've always heard that girls have a faster heartbeat than boys. My first was a girl and usually around 140 and my second was a boy and was usually 120-130. So it seemed to work for me, but it is just an old wives tale. I wouldn't decorate the nursery based on that.

Completely disagree.
My sons heartbeat was constantly in the 150-160 range.
I dont know anyone where the heartbeat was lower than 140. And most of the people that had girls also had heartbeats in the 150 range.
Its an old wives tale. There is no truth to it.

I agree...old wives tales. Now it could be that the heart beat remains near constant every time you hear it, and that it does in fact coincide with the correct sex, however, more likely than not, this is a coincidence. I have 4 children living, and they all had heart beats that didn't necessarily coincide with the sex people say it should be. heck...my 5 year old was anywhere from 140-188, and during labor was under 100. Drink some Mt Dew and see what it does to the heart rate! LOL!!! No really...don't do it, but think about it...doesn't caffeine raise your heart rate? So lots of factors to consider!!

They even informed me that they've been leaning in the direction of it being a woman by using fact curiously they are able to locate it as early as 12 weeks now. the two my boys coronary heart costs have been interior the a hundred and forty's and under. I had morning disease with the two one among them and that they say morning disease comes in case you're having a woman, so as that grew to become into incorrect. This time around i've got no longer had any morning disease, does this propose i'm having a woman? Who is conscious. i might say previous different halves memories are 50/50 possibilities. some are precise and a few are incorrect for each individual. One tale that leaves me questioning nevertheless is the zits. that's pronounced that in case you're breaking out then you definately are having a woman. I agree that this is an old wives tale.
I urge you to think this through for a moment. Why would a male vs. female baby's heart beat any faster or slower? Do boys' (or girls') hearts beat faster once they are born? No. Do men's (or women's) hearts necessarily beat faster? No.
There are two ways to check the sex of an unborn baby: fetal ultrasound that visually looks for male or female genitalia, and fetal genetic sampling that looks for the Y chromosome (through CVS or amniocentesis).

I do not think the heartbeat has anything to do with the sex of the child. Men and women can have the same heartbeat, so can boys and girls.

I disagree because I've heard opposite predictions. Low heartbeat is a girl, high heartbeat is a boy. I had high heartbeats and we had a boy. Could it be just concidence ?

I spoke with my doc about this on Monday. He said that it is impossible to tell the sex of the baby by the heartbeat. I was disappointed! lol He said the only true way to tell the sex is by ultrasound. (and that has a possiblilty of error) I know how you feel, I'm goin nuts wondering if its a boy or girl.....I can't wait!! Best of luck to you! Enjoy your new baby!
