Ok Again. No republican answers.. I am a conservative I know how you feel. I don't need your answers right now.

As for the idiot Ahmed, who said "Lot more than what the Republicans have done so far" That is exactly what I asked not to do. you must be stupid.

hey snow shoe: I want YOU to answer my question.. I want to see if YOU know what they want, and I want to know if YOU know what you voted for,

Hey Wattha all you said was there will be a change but you never say what the change will be.. hell I guess any change would be better as far as you are concerned.. a change theorically could mean we nuke every country in the world and we live by ourselves you would vote for that I guess..

Bill m.. so there is no difference between Republican and Dems for Iraq.. then why was this a vote for change? The war on terror.. is not a war? so then we should allow terrorists to hit us with no consequence? You gave no anwser on SS.. And as for Min Wage.. the election was local

Ok there seems to be a theme here..
I
raq some say have a time table for withdraw.. So we basically let the terrorists know when they can start running the country.... great idea.. Also no one said which is the best way to stabalize the government there..

The war on terror.. - have direct talks?? Good job Wally.. who do we talk to in regards to the terrorists surrending? And do they speak for all terrorists? Also who are the real terrorists? And didn't Saddam sponsor terrorist in the past lady bug? I can support evidence he has,,,

I can see the health care and SS its either no change.. or tax the rich. .again no one has explained who are the rich...

With minimum wage.. "raise it , raise it, raise it" is the theme but doesn't that effect small business owners? How much should they raise it to? someone suggested $7.75 or somehing like that. is that a livable wage?

I will be very honest with you. I do not know what will happen-I don't even know their plan. I do know that I do not like the way things are going now in Iraq, with our border and port security, with general fear mongering, with the "family values" the Reps have been shoving down my throat for the past several years, the dirty politics, the gas price fluctuations right before elections, and the "stay the course" mentality. All of these things caused me to vote for somebody different. The Reps' have had 5 years of practically absolute control over all 3 branches of government, and I believe a change is in order. I am very happy with the results of last night's elections.

Iraq: Try and resolve it as quickly as possible. Start pulling troops out ASAP.

War on Terror: Protect the home front. Go with the evidence. If we know where a terror cell is...We will go get'em. But we will not go into war without a hard set purpose.

Social Security: I honestly do not know. I am in my 20's and have not put much thought into that.

Health Care: A more open plan. Make it more affordable for lower incomes and the elderly. Make it stronger for everyone. Health care should be available to every American, not just those of us who have jobs that cover it.

Minimum Wage: Raise it . Immediately. Stop hooking up the rich and start working for the average working Joe.

As far as I know they don't have a plan on the war yet. I have to admit I am a little worried about the war on terror now because I don't know if they really feel its a legitimate problem. I think Soc Sec will be saved by the higher taxes proposals and health care will be better too. Minimum wage will also be increased although I don't know how much that will help the teenagers that work at these jobs.It will hurt the smaller ma and pa businesses. But I think the big retailers will do better with the extra money these teens will be spending at the stores.

Iraq will be turned over to the United Nations to handle.

The War on Terror will allow for direct talks with the terrorist organizations.

Social Security will not change much. They will probably include SS tax on the rich.

Health Care will include some prescription medication benefits for the elderly.

Minimum wages will increase incrementally to $7.25 per hour. (over the next 3 years.)

Also, expect taxes to increase with some efforts at balancing the budget. Overall, the government will continue and America will continue to see the two parties blame each other for any problems that come up. Expect both parties to claim that they are the real representatives of the average American.

Are Independents allowed?
One great fault of this country seems to be, right or wrong, follow the party line or it will cost you down the road. To win, a party has to convince the voters their position is the correct one AND far opposite the opposition's. No wonder we have so much extremeism. We need diplomats, not politicians, who have done their homework & create a concensus policy across party & national lines.

Look at my previousm answers to get my general views on Iraq. To go further, look at their history, & you will see why they hate & distrust the West, especially Britain & the US. Encourage them to find an equitable sulution to create 3 countries out of Iraq, which will best represent the ethnic groups - Kurd, Shiite, & Sunni. Encourage secular democratic governments for each, & offer UN security untill they can defend & police themselves. It would not take as long.. Then if any come under threat of outside invasion, provide whatever support is necessary for them to remain independent. If they fall into cicil war, let it remain their business, not ours.

Social Security is an insurance plan that is supposed to benefit in relation to what is invested in the plan. Keep it sustainable & fair to as many as possible. Eliminate the cap on taxable earnings.

War on Terror. Go after the individuals & groups, period. Obey the Geneva Conventions.

Health care, make the system competitive again as far a drugs & other medical options are concerned. Government, or National Health care is not the answer. Again, examine the history to see why.

The minimum wage. Index it yearly to the minimum or the poverty level for a single person. Or turn it over to the states. Several states have their own version. In Florida, the current wage is $6.40 I believe, tied to cost of living increases annually. If the Feds enact a higher one, Florida's will automattically increase the same ammount. A problem is, FL's is a Constitutional Ammendment. If the Fed level goes up to a liveable wage Fl's will go , at this point, $1.15 higher, putting it at a disadvantage to neighboring states in drawing jobs to the state.

You left out the single most important issue: the environment. It needs improvemnet NOW if we are to signifigantly delay the point of no return. Investment of $1.00 now, will save several more down the road Even Business is starting to realize this, taking steps individually to improve their efforts.

We can no longer go on as we have been. Please do not push us too far in the opposite directoin.

Thank you for reading my long-winded opinion.

Cleaning up a republican mess.

Iraq? - There's no easy way to fix it. We're there, we have to stay there till they at least get some kinda half a$$ed government in place.

The war on terror? You can't win a war on terror, its stupid to call it that. It like saying your gonna have a war on jealousy.. there will always be people out there that dont like us. We just have a lot more of them to deal with after being such idiots the past 6 years.

Social Security? Has been a flawed system since its was put in place.

Min Wage? Being handled at the state/local level

Iraq? Have a real plan which consists of bringing our troops home and getting out of a meaningless war.

The War on Terror? Going after the real terrorists. Saddam Hussein was not a terrorist; therefore, his execution does not count as fighting terror.

Social Security? Honestly, probably nothing new.

Health Care? Probably making sure that every child and senior has it.

Minimum wage? RAISING it!!!

ZAHIRS I see you listen very well, this is why the GOP lost

I cant speak for the entire Dems but from What I think and heard. They will try and devise a way to get out of Iraq in a reasonable amount of time. come up with a away that works in Iraq, Its not working right now. I hope they will stop borrowing from Soc. Sec. health care they need to totally restructure our health care system, Minimum wage will most likely get raised. Get the Drug companies and other suppliers to be accountable for there out of control cost. I just hope they listen to the people. stop the corruption, actually do something in Washington. and have some common sense for the country as a whole not for there personal agendas.

Well We cant stay in Iraq forever, eventually we have to leave, end if they choose not to fight for there rights its not up to us to it for them, you can lead a horse to water but you cant make him drink. and the minimum wage is a joke how can people live on that. somethings got to give. Maybe if prices wound stop skyrocketing, To line the pockets of the CEOs and other celebrities and such the rest of us might actually be able to live. I cant even afford to take my family to a Browns games. and movies, 100 bucks to take my family to the movies that just ridiculous.

Practically.. Iraq will have a phased withdrawl.. but it's possible for the president (being commander in chief) to override that
For the War on Terror you will see a refocus on finding Bin Laden
Social Security will be tough.. but there will be an attempt at reform.. I'm not sure how though
You will see cheaper Health Care.. but not free public health care.. the nation hasn't' quite progressed enough for that yet
You will see the minimum wage increase withing the first few days of the new term.

Raise the minimum wage , ----Medicaid , medicare coverage will expand to provide all those in need of medical coverage still not provided for at work or because of lower incomes .
social security needs to become free from the governments constant borrowing and over burdened by add ons that where never meant to pay in the first place .
We need to stop trying to hide the fact that some people need assistance and bury it in social security ,it was not designed to handle everyone in need .
The war on terror is on two fronts and both must be addressed .
Governments that want to become nuclear weapons builders must be stopped number one .This front is going to pose the lessor of the two .
The second front is that of an organized religion that has a protestant sect that believes in raising the sword against non- believers is the way to being admitted into the kingdom of god .
How do you stop people like this unless you can negotiate a peace and meet the terms of the terrorists .
We need to negotiate with them not say that we will not under any circumstance give into any demands of terrorists .
By working with governments who do not support terrorists and in fact work towards elimanating or controling terrorist groups we can effectively manage this problem if we can not negotiate with these people then we can not reach an understanding with them .
--
NOW how we ever got into Iraq is beyond me ,but now that we are there we must maintain a permanent force in sufficient numbers to control the people and keep violence to a minimum . We need to institute a draft called for By bush under his patriot act to get the troop levels high enough to maintain order and start to rebuild the nation of Iraq .
We can use the oil they have to pay for the repairs and this will help offset the huge expense we under took in attacking this nation .
I wish we never stepped foot in this pile of crap but we need to control the damage already done and restore order at what ever the cost in dollars and lives or we will never be safe from open attacks by terrorists again .
I think we need to get china on board here and supply 1,000,000 soldiers for some of the oil and share what we pump out of Iraq till its people can once again manage the affairs of there own nation .
This will unite China and America And lead to a capitolist china in the coming century .
