I manage a division of the service department for a large automotive group. I have a business degree, and get paid REALLY well, but I still only consider it a job. I think a career is somthing that you see yourself doing for the rest of your time in the workforce, and I really hope this isn't it. When people like what they do they generally consider it a career, and when they dont, a job...it makes it seem less permenent.

I call it a job. I really like my job but to me a career is something that you would consider doing for the rest of your life, or until you retire to make a good solid living.
I work in an office enviorment.
And I think most people have jobs. Careers are more like: Doctors, lawyers, teachers, nurses, business owners, accountants.

It's a job I could turn into a career if I switch from contractor to government. I work in logistics support for an Army contractor.

it's a career if you love it, and want to continue doing it for years
it's a job if you hate it and want to move on, or have no aspirations for moving up.
it's a McJob if the place where you work serves fries with that, or doesn't pay more than $2 above minimum wage.
I have a career, and I'd like to keep it that way.
