I started feeling mvement at 17 weeks, and at 20 I talked to my doc about it because the kicking is getting really intense! Ultrasound, etc, is all normal, and the doc explained that I'm feeling it so much becuase 1. I'm thin and 2. the placenta is behind the baby, pushing it right up to the front of my belly. She told me not to eat sugar, etc..

Now, it's a week later, and this kid won't stop moving. It doesn't even weigh a whole pound yet, but it just kicks so intensely all day long. My friends and boyfriend are all amazed at how strongly even they can feel it, and from the outside, you can see my belly move when the baby kicks.

I'm sure nothing's wrong, but it's starting to make me really nervous about the next 4 months, when the baby really grows. This is my second pregnancy but sadly I lost the last one at 19 weeks, so this feels like uncharted waters to me. Has anyone else carried such a kicker, and how did the pregnancy progress?

wow - i'm 6.5 weeks and can't wait to feel kicks. so funny what concerns us! my first baby was a big kicker too - i swear she was turning somersaults - she was so active. and, as a 5-year old, she is still super active. she is the kind of kid who can't stay still, always like stimulation and talking, and action. that being said, i do hope your pregnancy is healthy. i am so sorry about your first loss. best of luck!!!

21 Weeks Pregnant Fetal Movement

I got reemed out for answering a question like this once.

Anyway. Yeah its normal. Babies at this stage move CONSTANTLY, they dont really have circadian rythems yet, so there isnt any set sleep and awake time, they just move whenever they feel like it.

And yes, the thinner you are the more you feel, especially if baby is facing outward, instead of face in.

At 4 1/2 months i started feeling kicking with this baby, by 5 months i was literally getting turned to hamburger. The good news is, they run out of room in a couple months and move much much less. i called my little guy a river dancer, because he literally did a river dance across my belly all day and most of the night. He literally was moving atleast 1 dance every 20-40 minutes, made me sore. You could see it at 5 months.

Iam 7 months now and Malachi has slowed down A LOT. Although my belly still moves like jello, and i have feet up under my ribs kicking around all day.

Its really okay, and its really nothing to worry about. Just think of it as a way to get to know your babys personality a little bit. He/she's an extreme little person, and will probably do everything to the extreme for all the rest of his/her life :)

My son started kicking around the same time. It's such an amazing feeling. Yes - it feels a little uncomfy right now and probably will for the next 4 months but I promise you that you will miss that feeling after you give birth. My son used to get the hiccups like 4 times a day when I was pregnant with him. It was the craziest thing...my belly looked like it was jumping up and down! I

A close friend of mine was a very thin and short woman and at 17-20 weeks she started feeling fetal movement. and as the pregnancy prgressed he still kicked around, the only thing that would calm him down was when the father got home from work he would put his hand on her belly and the baby would calm down. her pregnancy went fine, and she actually went into labor naturally and had a healthy baby boy. so just hang in there it'll be over sooner than you think

Oh yeah, Im 20 weeks with my 4th baby and you can see my stomach moving around and she will ball up on to one side and Ill have a lump there. She kicks alot. My sons have all felt her kicking. Yeah it gets alot more intense with every week that goes by, but dont worry its nothing that is going to hurt you. It may hurt at the end when the baby is moving around and you are a few weeks away from labor. Because the baby moves down lower and it gets a little more painful, but other than that, its just fun to watch. I loved it.

Because you are so thin, and right now the baby has so much room to kick around, you will definitely feel the movements. As your pregnancy progresses, the bigger the baby will be, hence have less room to be so free, the movements will be more like nudges. Congrats !

I have quite the kicker now too. I could feel him at 16 weeks. Sometime it looks like my belly is having seizures lol. I was told the more the kicks and movements the better off I am. Now I am 30 weeks and he has calmed down due to lack of space. Now his movements are just uncomfortable to me :)

Once the baby starts to "outgrow" the womb, kicks are alot less as they have no more room.
