For a new company it would be very expensive to have credit card processing for a web site. Just having the encryption would be a hassle. PayPal does all the work for you.

Many sites with shopping carts and credit card payments are actually part of a large store hosting site which does the work for them. It is difficult to do it yourself.

Depends what you need from it - nowadays Paypal is used by so many individuals, that E-commerce sites are starting to adopt it as a standard.

There have been numerous breaches in security on paypal over the years, and a well-developed bespoke development would overcome these concerns, but Paypal does pretty much everything you'd need except look pretty.

whats wrong with pay pal. use it its already established and has the meens inplace to deal with bad credit
