Neocons are a minority among Republicans. The term properly refers to those who believe in aggressive, unilateral use of US power. With the Iraq fiasco, no one will ever listen to them again.

Don't get cocky. The voters just had a temper tantrum.
Besides, the GOP congress never really acted as if it was the majority party. They were always trying to appease the Dems even as the Dems ***** slapped them.

neither conservatives or liberals are the majority the majority of people are pretty much somewhere in the middle I think
