I'd like to know how one would go about adding charities and politicians to the "do not call" registry. Having just survived about 50 unwelcome and unwanted calls over the last two weeks, I'm fed up. If you truly know how we'd go about it (try to get it added as referendum, start a campaign with the Senate, whatever), please speak up!

Clarification:
I am aware of what Do Not Call covers; what I am asking is what we have to do to get similar protection from unwanted calls from charities and politicians.
Things done so far:
I have a phone number that has been unlisted for six years and I do use a cell phone. Both are listed with Do Not Call.
I also use a Telezapper.
I have opted out of every mailing list, etc., etc.
I do not think the charities and politicians use the same sources (as do telemarketers) to gain access to our information.
Since a majority of the calls from these charities and politicians either are automated or come over with caller ID blocked, we cannot even use the famous "remove me immediately and forever from this and any other list or database" phrase.

Update: I have found that there was a bill in the House of Representatives (HR 5325 IH) for this matter. I am trying to track down the status of the bill and whether anything else is being done.
