You can always access favorites from the START button on the taskbar.
Look for FILE tab on the internet toolbar, click the the double arrows and find favorites or right click on the toolbar and select standard buttons. OR
You could try the System Restore which takes you back to a time when your computer was working good. Go To:
start
programs
accessories
systems tools
system restore
This process is completely reversable. And does not remove your personal files. Just go back one checkpoint at a time until your puter is working good again.

I just updated today. The favorites are the little yellow star on the far left. Give that a try.

I presume you have ugraded to IE7 in which case your fav's are now found under the star icon in the top left corner. Near the back / forward arrow buttons. Alternatively you can access you favorites by pressing ALT+C on your keyboard

I went back to previous version

go to add/remove programs
highlight internet explorer 7
remove updates

your old ie6 should reappear with your favs
