Depends on his idea of spice it up. Both partners should take pride and pleasure in knowing that their spouse/partner is pleased by what ever they are doing.
The best lover is one whom gives to his/her partner to please them, without thinking of his/her own needs first. If you give to give and enjoy doing it, it will be returned 10 fold.
All to often both men/women assume they know what their partner wants, needs and likes. Take that 5 mins and ask, try experiment but most of all listen and pay attention.
Being a great lover to your partner comes from finding out what they want/need and making sure you give it to them. Not once, but everytime. If you won't, then rest assured. Someone else will.
