It's a stupid and irresponsible attitude by the 'fashion' trade.
1) Models are hatchet-faced cows who only get publicity when they act in a negative way.
2) Nobody would be seen dead in the rubbish you see on the catwalk.
3) I and many other people much prefer to see the evergreen Twiggy on the M&S adverts. She's still beautiful and she's got a genuine smile.
4) The misguided are led into anorexia by this false belief that stick-thin is beautiful.
5) There is now no such thing as fashion. Everybody dresses in a way which suits them whether they wear flares or drainpipes or dress grungy or gothy or punky or hippy or chavvy or any combination of clothes, make up or hairstyle.

High fashion models have always been stick thin. It's a very unhealthy lifestyle - and I don't think the money makes up for it.
Cindy Crawford was/is a good example to follow.

Its not so much that models think they have to be thin to look good, but rather that fashion dictates them to be tall and thin.
When they are tall and thin, they have better proportions for clothes, i.e. the clothes look good on them. The designers of course want to have someone that makes their designs look their best.
Not all models are stick thin, there is also a lot of plus size models, but we don't see them as much as they tend to do more catalogue work rather than runway.

Most tall thin people look good in almost anything. That is probably why. They can wear long coats, long dresses anything, i would not mind being stick thin, unfortunately i have been blessed with a volupteous healthy body. Still happy with it though. Poor females have to go without a lot to look that good on the catwalk shame.

its not the models but the designers want to show their clothes in the best and their is popular belief that their clothes hang well on thin models. they also don't have do make too many alterations. this is an old misconception but is still lives today its not that model think thin equals beautiful but thin equals work.

not all models are stick thin, there are models out there that are of a healthy size and remember also that most models are naturally slim. i do agree though that some of them are rather too slim due to dieting. if a model can eat healthy and still stay naturally slim then kudos to her its just the ones that overdo it that give models in the industry a bad name.

I have no idea...but I totally disagree.
Back in the day - Supermodels.....Cindy Crawford for instance...was a size 9...not a size 0. She was sexy as all heck.
I truly don't get it when people think that boney skins looks good. A man doesn't want to hurt himself on your hip bones while on top of you! Woman are supposed to be soft. Firm and soft....not hard and pointy.
I think things are coming around slightly, but not much. And it's shameful to me.

not meaning to be rude but anyone who picks up modelling to be their profession , cannot have much brains, I mean present urself as a commodity, try to sell urself, there are a number of people who look good my Anatomy teacher in first year was GORGEOUS, but she didnt choose to be a model, so these stupid models, being retarded as they are having nothing better to do with life, just starve themselves up.
I know I am gonna get a lot of thumbs down for this one but think about it, these silly things they are promoting bulimia and anorexia, so many little girls die because of it, that is such a waste of precious life......

You don't have to be stick thin to look good. If you wear flattering clothes you can look good at any size. Personality counts.
