ugh. my parents are the same way, and i am totally in agreement with you. i also do a lot of extra-curricular activities including school and club sports and working at a hospital too, bc i also want to work in the medical field. my parents, my dad especially, laugh at me when i say i really need piercings or dye. its not that im irresponsible, and i really need to work at the hospital more, and i know that dye-ing my hair, or piercings in the right place will make me more appealing and things and money isnt the issue here either. but i think i am going to get a job this summer and work my butt off in order to prove i am responsible and am serious about this. good luck!

May I suggest a power point or something? Im good with photoshop so I can photoshop a picture as if hair was darker or had piercings. This way I KNOW what to do with me. If you need some help just tell me (expertguitarist@yahoo.com)

Show her how much you want it by researching on the care you'll be doing to make sure it heals properly and show her how responsible you will be in taking care of it. Cartilage piercings are not the same as ear lobe piercings. They take time and effort to heal. You will not be able to sleep on that side, you should never talk on the phone using that side, and you should NEVER touch it unless you have just washed your hands very very well as cartilage can get infected very easily. Pretty much dont ever let anything touch it until its healed. You will have to wash it with antibacterial soap twice daily (preferably the soap/Provon they sell) and you may need to soak it in sea salt water 2-3 times daily depending on how well it heals. There is a chance it could get infected if its not taken care of or that scar tissue or keltoids can form (if taken care of and pierced by a professional that should not happen). A cartilage piercing can take 2-6 months to fully heal and will hurt for quite a while when they get bumped. Are you prepared to take care of it? Show your mom what you've learned and that you are serious about it. It's a piercing and it is not perminant. If you decide you do not want it you can always take it out and it will heal.

About your hair, if you've dyed it a lot why does she have a prob with it being black now? If you go buy the stuff and do it urself what can she do about it? Black hair is often associated with goth or a depressed person and maybe she's thinking you're trying to associate with that? Just let her know you are responsible and it doesn't mean anything. You can always dye it another color if you dont like it.

Well what colour is your hair now? Will or not it's a enormous change? I recall my mother freaking out whilst I recounted black hair (my hair is clearly very darkish brown with copper highlights), I ended up demise it black in October, and in April my dad stated "Isn't your hair darker than it typically is?"-- we are living within the equal residence and noticed each and every different virtually daily. So he freaked out nonetheless, however now not as unhealthy as I proposal he used to be going to. He honestly yelled at my sister who used to be 30 in view that she positioned blonde in her hair. I used to be sixteen whilst I died my hair black, I consider age must even have some thing to do with it... I in my view do not consider thirteen and 14 12 months olds must be demise their hair. It must even be stated that you probably have mild hair-- it'll take many years for the black to develop out, in view that not like such a lot colours, black does not depart till it is reduce off, or you might have the colour chemically taken out which isn't well for hair... you additionally cannot die over black.
