A friend who had never modeled. Model clothing for my company witch is just starting out. We have not made any profit. When I asked my friend how much she would like to be pay befor we shot. She said that she did not know and that she is not worried about it. The next week after the shoot was done she asked for three hundred dollars. Thier is no contract and I believe half of what she asked for is fair.

Discuss pay BEFORE the work is done! Get it in writing too!

You don't say how long she worked, but I think you should pay her what she asks and get a contract next time. She did the work. If someone fixed the roof on the company HQ, would you owe them less just because you haven't made a profit yet?

I think you're right...it would be in your best interest to come up with a contract though, so you don't run into legal issues.
