If they are smart, they will be laid back and very careful for the next 2 years and wait to capture the Presidency too. Thankfully there are Dems like John Kerry who seemingly only take their feet out of their mouths for only a few months at a time.

But few enough Dems are really smart. I expect Palosiis going to turn up her annoying personality up a notch or two, feeling like she has a mandate. This may actually be a good thing, remind Americans why they changed the House to Republican more than a decade ago.

Their biggest mistake will be the belief they have been given a mandate for extreme liberal ideas. They have been given the vote by Middle Americans that want to see moderation. A significant shift to the left will put the Democrats out—possibly forever. They need to demonstrate that they support middle class values and not the fringe left. There is just as much chance that they will blow this opportunity as there is for them to gain from it. This could be the best thing that ever happened for the Republicans if the Democrats don’t do the right things.

You are grasping a straws. It took the dems forty years to get as corrupt as the republicans did in ten.

PS. Having a PHD doesn't make a person right or bright. It stands for Piled Higher and Deeper, as the old jokes goes. Plenty of liberals have PhD's ya know. That you have to site it in every answer only tells me you are insecure and not confident enough to let your reasoning stand on its own. Siting PHD as your source proves nothing.

Two years of scandals ahead? More republicans violating boys and getting high with their male prostitutes?

Any of you airheads ever considered that with all the intense investigation of anybody allowed close to a president, bush could not have been unaware of what kinds of people he has been dealing with?

Makes one wonder if the rumors about his own male prostitute in Austin might not be true after all.

They'll spend the next two years investigating the republicans....they can't overturn a Presidential veto, because they don't have enough for the 2/3rds majority....can't impeach either.
Mostly, there won't be much getting done.

Compare -40- count 40 years of House majority until 1994 and it took only 12 years for the Repub's to hang themselves, go figure.

The democrats have changed just as much as the republicans. There will be plenty of mistakes. Can we live with them is the question.

It will probably be accepting G.W at face value when he says he wants to work with them.
When he first took office, he pretended to reach out to Democrats, Ted Kennedy with the No Child Left Behind Act, he pretended like he cared and really he didnt. He took the original and turned it into the warped mess it is today. So really I think the Democrats would be a little wary of trusting him.

Not getting the word out that W stickers on cars are both seen as a distraction and a wake up call to buy a new vehicle.
