1) Firstly congratulations on wearing hijab :-))

2)BASIC HIJAB STYLES: How to wrap the hijab depended on the shape of the hijab...There are two main shapes. Square and rectangle .. And the look of the scarf depends very much on the size and the material of the scarf. .

I think it is easier to show you how to wrap a hijab than describe it here.. These pages will show you how to wear the basic styles...
This page gives you a simple illustration of how to wear 3 basic hijab styles

..This page gives good descriptions of all styles (but no pictures!)

You can also wear an under scarf under your main scarf for contrasting or matching colours..
There are ready made scarfs like hoods (called maqne'ah in Iran not so sure in Dubai) where you just put your head through..
Or Amira hijabs where you wear an underscarf like cape and cover it with a tube..

3) HIJAB FASHION: For day to day wear I would wear a simple style because it is more practicle and comfy...and match the colour of my outfit to the scarf..Or experiment with pattern

But..here a few suggestions to make the hijab more exciting :-))

a) When I go to parties etc. I often wear I plain coloured hijab (with sparkly bits) and a pin a large flower clip to my hijab just above my ear area. It looks really cool!

b) I have seen Egyptian women wearing two scarfs over each other. A very light patterned see through one other a plainer coloured one. That effect two is cool..

c)I found this really nice rectangle scarf with curved ends that has a really nice effect when worn as a scarf. Scarves aren't difficult to make. You can experiment with shapes and sizes to get a good effect.
Wearing a beeny hat over a plain black hijab in the winter gives a funky effect.

d)This Egyptian website has some interesting styles (if you download the pictures you can enlarge them)

e)Hanan Turk doesn't really wear hijab but a turban. If you like that style. I found this website (for US cancer patients) that sells Turbans. If you look on the scarf pictures on that site you will see they wear them in a very pretty tied a round the back. This style is very easy to copy. So is the Turban that Hanan Turk wears

f) This website will show you how to the wear headscarfs similar to how Hannan Turk wears hers
