Impatient! I need pregnancy test advice!?

Question

My husband and I have been trying to conceive. I purchased the ovulation kits and we “did it like rabbits” on my ovulation days. I am due to start my period this Sunday. Since last week I have had SUPER sore breast, Lower back pain, Heartburn…(which I have never had in my entire life!) and I have also been gassy. Anyway, I have a feeling that I am pregnant. I have taken 2 tests, (both negative) but they were even too early to be detected by the early sign pregnancy tests. (The ones that will tell you 4-5 days before your missed period) Has anyone had luck w/ these “early tell” home pregnancy tests? If I’m due on Sunday, when should I take my next test?

* I know that most of you feel like I should “shut up” and wait until I’m late. I’m just super excited and want to know NOW!!!! * Any advise would be helpful.

i know the excitement of wanting to have a baby makes us women very impatient lol, but if you have tested with one of the tests that say you can test 5 days before your missed period and you are still getting a negative then you are probably one of the ones that fall within the 31% that get negatives when testing that early, those tests only show a positive that early for 69% of women, so my best advice to you is to wait until sunday and then take a test if the test is still negative wait until wednesday or thursday to test again, i know the suspense is killing you trust me i am in the same boat as you i have the sore breasts and lower back pain i had spotting and so on and i am not due to start until tomorrow so i am going to wait to test until tomorrow i did do the early pregnancy test yesterday and it came up negative. and in the future if this doesnt work out the way you wish instead of going at it like rabbits lol try having sex every other day, when you have sex every day or more than once a day you are not giving the mans sperm enough time to build back up therefore maybe lowering your chances of concieving try having sex every other day for a month it will be fun for the both of you lol and see if that works if this doesnt pan out for you. i wish you nothing but the best of luck and i hope everything works out for you and your husband <> for you and your husband. 1st: Don't waste your $$ on ovulation kits, just continue to pretend to be the rabbits and have fun! 2: Your symptoms sound like those of my own just before my cycle starts... (sorry) If you think your pregnant, use your first morning urine to do the test, if it's negative, wait until your period is a few days late and go see your DR. so they can perform a BLOOD TEST. Blood tests are accurate and you'll know for sure! Good luck, best wishes, your in for the adventure of a lifetime if you are pregnant!

I am going through the same thing right now, my period is due today and so far it hasn't shown up yet. I have had pregnancy symptoms (the same you describe) for three weeks now and I am sooooo sick of waiting. I already took like 10 HPT's and they were all negative but for some reason I don't want to believe them. I am going to wait for one or two more days and then go to the doc's office to take a blood test. I keep buying the cheap Dollar Store HPT's to easy my mind but seeing the BFN all the time is definitely a bummer!
I hate to say it but you just have to hang in there and wait. Keep taking tests and wait for Sunday to come and if you don't get your period call your doc!

You will just have to wait. If you are really impatient, try with the early tests again on Sunday. If not, wait until 5 days after your missed cycle. Good luck to you!

It is exciting - I hope you are too!! Test on Sunday Or go to the Doctor's for a blood test. Don't "shut up" - shout it out to the world if you want to - this is a wonderful thing!

i would wait until after u missed ur period just to be sure. but the best way to tell is to go to the docter, and i know waiting can be a b*tch. it took 6 months for me and fiance to get pregant, we tried evey position that ppl said to try, i even tried sitting upside down on the couch to ttc.lol. nothing worked for 6 whole damn months!!!!!!! i was beginning to lose hope, but then...all of the sudden... my period was late, and after tons of negative tests. we finally had a positve! i was excited. but back to u......the tests can be wrong, mine never were..so i would wait until about 2 or three days after ur missed period. i found out when i was 2 months pregant, and for the first month i still had my period, so i didnt think i was pregnant. untill the second when i missed my period. so i hope i helped and good luck and have a happy and wonderful pregnancy, and delivery.

Girl please you have every right to be excited. I am in the same boat. I havent ever took the early detection test. I just think it was to early for the ones that you took. Today is the 5th day from sunday so try it. Good luck

Look for a test that measures 20 mIU/mL. Very low levels of hCG, less than 50 mIU/mL, are present in urine shortly after implantation. So buy a low sensitivity test 20-25 mIU/mL. (See http://www.peeonastick.com/hpts.html for which tests have the lowest sensitivity)

You can also get a blood test done if you cannot wait. Those can detect very low levels of hCG.

The home tests for early detection only detect the HCG hormone in 60% of women. Its not worth it to test until after you're late.

You can however go to your local doctor office and insist on blood work, you are not too early for that.

I have taken these tests 2 days after I have been late. I found out I was pregnant!!! Good Luck!!!
