jack the bike up, it has to be rock stable, supported from underneath without punching holes in the cases.cover the gas tank with a towel, tape it down. remove the handlebars.loosen the pinch bolts on the top clamp. remove the center nut over the frame neck. pull the entire front end off.

oil the fork tubes. take a chisel and "slightly" open the slot to free teh tubes. undo the pinch bolts. separate the lower tree from the tubes.
assemble in reverse. grease the bearings and stem. you should install a grease zert in the frame neck so you can keep the bearings greased without pulling the shole thing apart agian. make sure the slots are prized apart enough so that you dont scratch the tubes.

with the front end on loosen all pinch bolts and the axel nut. give the assembly a good shake. start from the bottom tightening the bolts to factory torque settings.

go over everthing you touched three times. two for you and one for me.
