Ashamed - no.
Horribly disappointed - yes.

There are policies this president has supported that I don't understand and really worry about.

Yes there is the war in Iraq and there are terrorist threats that I don't feel are being dealt with.

However, I'm honestly very concerned about some of the stuff going on a little closer to home.

Why is the president spending so much time and money trying to define what a marriage is? (Please don't give me the God said it's bad for a man and a man to hook up and it's bad for a woman and a woman to hook up, I'm looking at it as a tax payer, and I'm sick of the government spending money telling me that I can only marry a man legally.)

Why did the federal government screw up so badly in response to Katrina? (We had to know that a hurricane was coming and we didn't prepare for it or what?)

Why does our president think that a teacher in this country is leaving any child behind? (No child left behind is a great idea, but it's completely useless. It is a completely under funded idea that the government decided would be a nice catch phrase to get voters to agree with, but if you actually know how it works, you would cry for the teachers and students.)

Why are we spending around 520 billion on the department of defense versus spending about 60 billion on the department of education? (I'm not arguing that I want to feel safe in the country that I was born in, but why are we spending almost 9 times the amount of money on education on defense. Maybe it's just me but I think the kids in our schools across the country deserve more than what they are getting.)

You may disagree with what I have to say, and that's fine with me. I support what our country stands for, but I have some serious concerns about how our fearless leader is currently directing our country.

Have a great day from the Land Of Lincoln. :)

Am I ashmaed at our prez? No--I AM PEEZED at his actions since taking office, along with the actions of many (soon-to-be former) membrers of Congress. We've all seen the news reports about how corrupt Congress has been the past couple years (look at the Abrahamoff scandal, the DeLay issue, and the recent "page scamdal" for more proof). As a citizens of this country, I have been quite apalled at the way things have been going back in DC for years. Clinton may have had his problems, but he TRIED! "W" isn't even doing that, in my book--the economy's a mess, our men and women in Iraq are there fighinting a very unpopular war (and many of them have been coming home seriously injured or dead for no apparent reason), and we're facing a sprialing budgety deficit (no thanks to the the tax custs passed over the past few years). Oh yes, we have a Social Security system that's in bad need of fixing, and a health care system that's been broken for so long it ain't funny (and the Medicare drug program passed last year is no help--is there any hope for that?).

No, I'm not ashamed of President Bush--I AM APPALLED!!

No. He may not be doing the job I'd like but I've lived long enough to know he's had a rough row to hoe. I would have to go all the way back to Roosevelt (FDR not Teddy) to find a pres that faced tougher problems.

I shudder at the thought IF Gore had carried Tennessee or Arkansas it would have been him in the White House instead of Bush.

I really don't see him doing anything to really be ashamed of. He's made tough choices and not all of them have been right, but he tried. Shoot the guy before him couldn't catch Bin Laden when they knew what house he was in.

And I'm from Arkansas. Home of the guy who couldn't keep his zipper closed! OHMIGAWD There are some really great people in Arkansas. WHY did the Democrats pick Slick Willy!

I would not use the word ashamed, because I have nothing to be ashamed of. I did not vote for him either time.
The word I would use concerning G. Bush, would be "DISGUSTED" the man proves time and time again, that he is a complete moron.
I think his moron status reached its greatest heights during the unforgivable hurricane Katrina fiasco. Why did it take almost five days to get any military help to those poor people affected by the hurricane? Simple, because all our troops were in Iraq fighting a senseless war. It took that long to fly some of them back and deploy them to the hurricane affected areas. The only thing that G. Bush stands for is his own insatiable greed and power hungry mindset! Atrocious! in every sense of the word.
I myself come from Connecticut!

er no, its your president not yourselves you should be ashamed of. What an incoherent blithering fool. I watched a 'montage' of all his stupid things, like reading a book upside down and some of the absolutetily stupidirility wordifications he comes out with are hilarious. Its not that the world hates americans its that they feel sorry for such a powerul nation being lead by this timebomb. Every country I visist they make fun of George Bush on comedy shows etc. What a shame Al Gor wasnt voted for - an honest man who has the fate of the planet at the heart of his policies. I am not an american.

No. He was a better choice in both elections. If you're talking about Iraq, No again. The intelligence at the time dictated we attack and remove Saddam from power. If a dem was in he would have done the same thing. I am ashamed of the citizens in this country that believe everything they read and hear. America has gotten lazy and just believe whatever is put in front of them. All that is reported is negative and there are positives in Iraq. The media hides those facts. We have lost 3000 troops in 4 years. Kennedy put us in Viet Nam where we lost 15,000 in 1968 alone. The U.S. wasn't nearly as polarized as it is now. Thats because the dems don't work with the repulicans for solutions, they sit back and criticize and point fingers. It isn't the president we're ashamed of, its ourselves.

I hate to use words like 'ashamed' when describing the leader of our country but I'll put it THIS way. I NEVER voted for him EITHER time. I always try to give people the benefit of the doubt but I think he has done an APPALLING job as president and has made Americans look bad to other nations all over the world. We are in a HUGE mess in Iraq for no apparent reason whatsoever. We were fooled into going there by a bunch of lies and half-truths. Our brave and WONDERFUL troops are over there risking their lives every day and struggling to stay alive while our 'leader' does NOTHING to get them home. When will enough be enough? It is a TRAVESTY! I would respect our president a LOT more if he would simply ADMIT his error and move on to correct it. These troops deserve MUCH better as do we civillians here.

No I am not ashamed because he stands for something. Yes he is human just like the rest of us the only difference his decisions affect a nation and are under constant public scrutiny. Regardless of what I am seeing on Yahoo answers where people bash Bush I'm sure their name has never been on an election ballot, I wonder if we the public would scrutinized their decisions & lives what would we find that we didn't like? I'm from PA. Where are you from?

Why must they be embarass?
They kick his butts to let him know something went wrong out there and wanted him to correct it that's all.
Why must they be ashamed of what they done.
Provided they know what they done does not back fired on themselves.
When everyone were at loss and blurr on what the mystery of us-911 was all about in planet of apes.
At loss on what went wrong out there is vital for their own children and grand-children born and raised after independence at loss with our creator's universal gifts of life vital for the survival and advancement of living human kind in planet of apes.
At loss they were voting themselves to self extinction when the dirty old men in office were trying to save them in planet of apes.

I don't know if I would say I am ashamed of him. I am at times discouraged by his performance as a leader.
