when u reset u go back to the factory settings
which means that whatever settings you or some other people have made which is specific to the particular internet connection provided by your ISP are gone. So you wont ve able to connect to the internet.

What you see as connected is just your local wireless network connection and not your internet connection

i think you need to go to the router setup page
usually for dlink it's 192.168.0.1
default username is admin and default password is not set
and check out the WAN settings,
so u gotta know the type of internet connection in your case
dsl, cable modem, pppoe, etc

Check to see if the Internet connection is actually there. I had some issues when I put my household on wireless network. I would get a strong communication signal, meaning the linksys wireless-g connections were strong, but internet would not connect. After following ALL of the steps, it would not connect. I called Linksys Tech Support and they helped me out, although they had me do the same thing I had done previously. But it worked....eventually.

You will need to set your router up again so that it can negotiate with your I.S.P.
(Internet Service Provider).

Most likely, you have erased your ISP's account User ID and Password from the router's settings.

(I hope you have your Router User ID & Password so you can get to the Set-Up!)

There's nothing wrong with what you did. Or, at least, you haven't broken anything. You router has settings that have to be entered to allow it to "Talk To" your Internet Service Provider, and it may have some special settings so that it can "Talk To" the wireless adapters on your computer(s). It's usually pretty easy to get into the "Setup" screen of a router, but you will DEFINATELY need the information that was erased. You may need to call the Help Desk for your I.S.P.

GOOD LUCK!

You may have your computer set to use wireless encryption (wep/wap). Disable the encryption on the computer and see if you can connect to the router now. If you can, reconfigure encryption on both the router and your wireless connection in the computer so that your network is secure.

you should also run ipconfig on your pc to see what the pc settings are at as well. sometimes "release" and "renew" will get the connection working again.
