That depends on what series SIM it is. You can tell by the backing color/design. If it's yellow or black it's a Series 3 SIM which can be used in all the newer phones. If it's a grey/blue electronic design, that will only work in older phones such as Motorola i60/90/95/etc. because it's a Series 2 card. The difference between them is the carrying capacity of contact information. However, you CAN use them in newer phones and have it work, but you won't be able to store any contacts; same goes for new to old. So, yes, it will work any way you look at it, but depending on the Series and phone model, there may be some technical difficulties. Also, the SIM is what makes the phone active, so as soon as you transfer the SIM card, the phone will be active and ready to use - common misconception (people think they need to activate the phone when in reality, the SIM is what is active. Hope this helped you out!

Yes, you can keep your same SIM card and put it into a new phone. If you stay with your current provider and get a locked phone, that is what they do. If you purchase an unlocked GSM phone, you simply take your SIM card and put it in the new phone and away you go.

Yeah as long as the actual phones takes the sim card network, you can now get any phone chipped and then it will take any sim card, this costs around £5 and you should be able to get it down any local high street.
So dont worry

Yes, the new phone will work and it will have all your numbers on it too. Unless you have saved the #'s to your phone.
One down side, any pics, videos, or ringtones that your old phone has will not transfer over. Those things are not saved on the sim card.

Your new phone must be on the same network or be an "unlocked" phone, which will accept all SIM cards.

I'm not sure if the answer is yes to all phones, but it worked for me. I had a Sony Ericsson and now have a Nokia.

Yes, as long as it's on the same network as your old phone.

It has to be the same model and you have to call the cell company and give them the serial numbers.
