Try just asking calmly and nicely about the cartilage piercing, and explain to her about the process and what you know about taking care of it and everything. I usually get my mom to agree to things by showing her I really care about it, by researching and finding out everything I can about it, and that usually works really well.

As for your hair, maybe ask your mom if you can dye it a shade darker than you've done before, and see how it looks. If she thinks that's okay, then you can ask her if you can go a bit darker next time, and then go darker every so often until you get to black.

Show her how much you want it by researching on the care you'll be doing to make sure it heals properly and show her how responsible you will be in taking care of it. Cartilage piercings are not the same as ear lobe piercings. They take time and effort to heal. You will not be able to sleep on that side, you should never talk on the phone using that side, and you should NEVER touch it unless you have just washed your hands very very well as cartilage can get infected very easily. Pretty much dont ever let anything touch it until its healed. You will have to wash it with antibacterial soap twice daily (preferably the soap/Provon they sell) and you may need to soak it in sea salt water 2-3 times daily depending on how well it heals. There is a chance it could get infected if its not taken care of or that scar tissue or keltoids can form (if taken care of and pierced by a professional that should not happen). A cartilage piercing can take 2-6 months to fully heal and will hurt for quite a while when they get bumped. Are you prepared to take care of it? Show your mom what you've learned and that you are serious about it. It's a piercing and it is not perminant. If you decide you do not want it you can always take it out and it will heal.

About your hair, if you've dyed it a lot why does she have a prob with it being black now? If you go buy the stuff and do it urself what can she do about it? Black hair is often associated with goth or a depressed person and maybe she's thinking you're trying to associate with that? Just let her know you are responsible and it doesn't mean anything. You can always dye it another color if you dont like it.

Hi as one North Dakotan to another here is what I think. You should tell your mother about what you want to do to your hair and the piercing. Then agree to do only one of them. Let your mom choose.

about the hair thing, just tell her that you want to try it and if she/ you don't like it, you can always dye it lighter. for the piercing, you are just gonna have to wait for someone elses answer, because i have no idea. : P

Once your 16, you can go into a salon, and get it done without her permission..
Just tell her how much you want it done, without shouting or crying at her..tell her you dont think its fair that your sister can get that done when shes younger than you.

Try seeking consent of mom with your sister by your side!
It is possible the consent crops up instantly!

Talk to your mom and let her know about this.
If its right for you, she would definitely give permission.

Look for the perfect time, when you speak with her.
