I am 32 weeks pregnant and have had very small levels of blood in my urine off and on during this pregnancy. Every time it was visible only by microscope, they periodically checked for UTIs and everything was negative. I was on antibiotics just in case, but now they are sending me to a urologist. I have no history of UTIs, kidney problems, or anything else I think of when it comes to this. It's been a healthy, run of the mill pregnancy (knock on wood) so far! Anyone had a similar situation or know why this could be happening?

the blood in you urine is more than likely from your kidneys or your blader! dont panic just go to the doctor and have then check your kidneys and your family doesnt have to have any problems with there kidneys but you may.

What you have is called microscopic hematuria, where blood is in the urine but only visible by microscope. You OB is probably sending you to a Urologist just to make sure he/she didn't miss anything. I wouldn't worry too much. Although blood in the urine can be caused by UTIs, Bladder or kidney stones or even kidney disease. It is a good thing your OB is sending you to a urologist just to double check. Better safe than sorry, right?

During this last pregnancy (she was born 9/6/06), I had blood in my urine every single time I went to the doctor. I also had blood in my urine before I got pregnant. Every time it was only noticable through a microscope. Some people just do. It's nothing to get super-worked up about, just talk to your doctor and if he/she is not concerned, I wouldn't be either. Congratulations and good luck with your new little precious one.

You could have kidney stones! My daughter would only get them when she was pregnant. With the 2 girls, it was after they were born, that she tried to pass them. With her son, it was a few months prior to birth, the urologist had to put in stints. After she had the baby, they were removed through sonar(?) something.
