I make t-shirts for my Girl Scouts with iron-on transfer paper all the time. So far I have not found a particular brand that is better than any of the others in any quantifiable way, except for the one time I bought a pack made by a company I had never heard of. I do buy all of my transfer paper from Walmart, but I make sure to buy brand name papers now - if you don't recognize the brand name, don't waste your money!
There are a few things to keep in mind with iron-ons:
1. Iron-on transfers are not the perfect way to put images on t-shirts. They will fade, crack and peel over time. Keeping that in mind, however, it is fun and easy to make a t-shirt this way.
2. Make sure to iron the image onto the shirt on a hard surface, like a table. Don't use your ironing board - the padding is too soft and it won't allow for a very good transfer image. If you use a hard surface, you can get a nice clear image transfer of even small print and picture details. Remember, however, that this is not a perfect technique, and if you are looking for picture perfect quality, you will need to find another technique.
3. Tell whomever you are giving the shirt to to wash it inside out, or else the transfer will visually disintegrate after the first washing.
If you follow those simple guidelines, the image will iron on perfectly acceptably and the image will last for a reasonable amount of time. One of my Girl Scouts has a shirt we made 2 years ago that still retains the image. And, yes, she has worn it in the interval!
Good luck and have fun!

I got the ones from Walmart. They turn out fine if the iron is just right; it can't be too hot or too cool. I wish they wouldn't fade so fast tho'.

i had a shirt done with ones bought from walmart...they are fine until you get down to small detail like small words by themselves...the larger the image or word(s) the easier the image will peel off the backing and stay on the shirt.

michael suggested his well known colours replaced into purple and gold , and it relatively is particularly obtrusive ha ha, he continually wore purple and gold , and he regarded so attractive in purple and gold, so get purple or gold . if no longer purple or gold then get white! he prefer to placed on white shirts ,he wore them under each and every thing .
