yea it is a pretty good reason too, it is MONEY!!!

A playoff system would negate all of these stupid bowl games every year and that would cost the NCAA millions and millions of advertising dollars, so as long as the money hungry NCAA has a say so then we are stuck with this lousy BCS crap.

Well to be honest money. NCAA has to pay the school an amount of money for winnning the big games. With a playoff you have a few problems there:

1. Do you only pay the teams in the final game?

_ thats not fair to the team who work hard to get to the playoffs and leave with nothing.

2. Do you pay all the teams who play?

- They can't afford to do thisand they only want to pay what they have tooo thats why the games have set amounts to recieve.

3. How do you get sponors?

- Each BCS game has an sponor. If you had playoffs then how would you get sponors to cover all those games, thats why sponors only cover a few games.

4. Can the players be in risk of injury?

- Its bad enough with the pressure of scouts breathing down your back, but what good is he if he is banged up. More games have the risk factor of injuries.

5. No one wants to break tradition.

- The game has a pride factor as well. Men have started something and to change it would make a lot of people mad. I think the people who are paying for the events should ask the players of past and present how they feel. If all of the above get fixed then you are able to start changing things.

its tradition. college football has been around for over 100 years. every other sport collegiate and professional has a playoff system. Why should college football change? its a diversity thing. why should one want to join the masses, just because a playoff system works for other sports doesnt mean it will work for football. How do you decide which 8 teams get to the playoffs? You forget you will have deserving teams with a chance to win the national title being left out of the equation. A playoff will not bring about a definitive national champion.

College football does have a playoff system, just Division 1-A doesn’t. the reason is MONEY. The Bowl games make so much money that it’s not worth getting rid of them. As they say Money Talks BS walks

There is WAAAAYYYYY too much money to be made off the bowls! I would like to see a playoff, but the NCAA will never give it up because of the money they make from it, the number of games and higher risk of injury and time away from studies it would require, and etc......

Can't be money, look at all the dough the NCAA tourny generates.

The real reason is that the non-major conferences are afraid to be cut out of the pie, so they've been doing their best to screw it up for everyone.
