Personally I am getting fed up with ice-cream boxes that take a huge space in the freezer because they are oval rather than rectangular, chocolates in weird shaped containers, and paraphernalia that has been designed in wavy shapes and are increasingly difficult to store. There are things which call for a rounded shape such as tins, and that is understandable, but designers have gone crazy on soft designs, which in turn have to be packed in larger boxes, thereby contributing to waste and unusable clutter. It is not so much a matter of roundness or angularity,but a matter of space invasion.

If it is an apple then round and organic sounds good! If it is a box then angular and geometric sounds fine.
