any time you're starting a new medication, especially one that includes hormones, you'll have some crazy side effects until your body gets used to it. eventually it will work itself out and you'll have regular periods with no problems inbetween.

I started BC a month ago, and I had my period the entire month, plus I had my period for 12 weeks straight prior. It's normal for you to spot, especially if you're starting a new brand, or a higher prescription. But you have to take it for 3 months before you can switch, it takes your body a while to get used to having hormones replaced. However, when I started this month, it stopped! I'm so happy! After like 12 plus weeks of having my period straight, it's like such a weight off of me! If you're still worried, call your doctor and ask! Maybe read the book that comes along with the pack of pills! Hope this helps :)

Off-period spotting is entirely normal in the first three months on the pill. And it *is* really irritating. In most women it is worst the first cycle and then gets better for subsequent pill packs.

Yeh thats fairly normal, as long as its just light spotting and not heavy bleeding and clotting. If it doesnt stop after 5 days, go see your GP. Good Luck!

Yes, but side effects differ among different people. If it becomes really annoying, see your doctor. Your dosage may need to be changed.
