Hi there,

One of the best known smiley sites "Smileycentral.com" do indeed package adware with their downloads. This will usually install things like "MyWebSearch" or "FunWebProducts".

Here's some detailed information on the MyWebSearch adware:

The best and easiest way to remove this adware is by installing the Free Trial of Prevx1. This will scan your PC and remove this and any other infections free of charge.

Yes Smiley Central is connected with cool web search that takes over your home page and it is hard to get rid of.Just be care full as a rule of thumb always before you install anything on your PC always do a scan first instead of clicking open ,click scan with. And see if your anti virus picks up any bugs.Good luck

I don't think it does but it may contain spyware. Make sure to do several anti-spyware scans after installing the program as well as before...

The smilies themselves don't, but sometimes the website you're at might want you to download an installer which might contain a virus.
