Hmmm...well, after helping my mom cook a fabulous meal that would feed a football team, the girls would gather all the dishes and start cleaning the table as the guys would settle down in the family room on the sofas. Their symphony would begin; harmonious belching and farting; tummy patting with appreciative murmurings for a well done meal. Once the kitchen was cleaned, leftovers put away, the women would join the men and close the back door (after the unforgettable odors that were emitted went away). The men would sing the final song about "dumping a load soon" to make room for a second helping of dessert.

Ahhhh...the good old days....

My favorite Thanksgiving tradition is watching the Thanksgiving day parade with my dad while we were waiting for dinner. He used to wake us up early in the morning to watch the parade.

Growing up, after thanksgiving dinner we would all help clean up, then we would break out board games and a deck of cards. There would be so many of us that we would have 5 games going at once. After we were done playing, we would bust out the left over turkey and sit around eating turkey sandwiches.

My fave has always been, while getting Thanksgiving dinner ready - we would watch the Macys parade together, then after eating dinner watching all the Christmas cartoons that would come on. :)
