I have a problem. I'm terrified of needles, but I really really want my ears and nose peirced! I can't stand the thought of holes in my skin...and the pain...but I don't know what to do!

As far as piercing your ears, it stings for about 30 seconds but it's really not that bad. I heard that the nose piecings can be quite painful, although I haven't done it yet, so I don't really know. They may use a small needle for the nose, but with the ears they use a piercing gun, so you don't see any needles at all. Go ahead and do it, it's worth it, but make sure you follow all the aftercare instructions so they don't become infected. Good Luck!

Actually, getting your ears pierced does NOT hurt that bad. I've heard that getting the cartilage pierced hurts more than the flabby dangly part of your ear hehehe (the lobe I know). Anywayz, if you get it done at a good, hygenic and sterile place, there won't be that much paing getting your ears done (so I don't suggest Claires) go to Shopper's Drug Mart or Merle Normans. As for your nose, I hear that hurts like the dickens.... :)

It hurts less when you peirce your nose. I just remembered the first time i pierced my ear at school..... it was like hell,very painfull. Remember, if you want to have a piercing find someone professional and clean.

I think it hurts to get the lobes of your ears pierced, but it doesn't hurt as much to get the cartilage done. it doesn't hurt a lot to get your nose done and it also heals up pretty fast, the only scary part of it is that your eyes water up after getting it done!!!

stop being a baby. the ear peircing feels like a little pinch. its even better to do it during the cold weather so if they are a little irritating, you just go outside for a bit.

Depending where you pierce your ears if it hurts.The lobe does not hurt as for the cartilage well it does. My sister had her nose pierced and said it hurt like he** just make sure they pierce it right (my sis took hers out cause the stem pointed down)

All though I don't have my nose pierced , I have seen many done .
The people desribe it as being slightly painful , but no hideously painfull. They say within 2 hrs , they forgot they even had it ..

pain just lets you know you are alive, and, the pain only lasts for a little while unless it gets infected
