Just download the software Terminator X from http://www.plevna.f9.co.uk/blockchat.htm
1)Install the software
2)After you open, in the left select chat applications.
3)On the right, select yahoo messenger or any other you wanna block.
4)Set the password, and the secret question and answer.
5)Done.

Communicate with him.............restricting his access to the computer will just annoy him. But since ur question is how to restrict his access.............try making a new user account in ur pc and dont give administrative rights to this account and also dont put the messenger or internet explorer in this account. By this only the administrator can use the net...the password of which only u will have. The complete steps of setting up a new account is given in windows help. In the help window type "USER ACCOUNTS". If you dont wanna take such a drastic step then install "Net Nanny". This software will allow only those web-sites to be surfed that u feel are right fr ur family.

But i still feel that TALKING TO HIM is the best solution to ur problem.

does he pay attention to you, does he show his love for you? does he pay the bills buy groceries and buy you clothes when you need them.does he spend time with you.these are all important question.if he is neglecting any of the the things i mentioned then you and him need to have a civilized talk with each other.if he's not putting any of the things i mentioned on the wayside then let him do what he enjoys.i'm the same way i love being on the computer but i also know what my priorities are and those come first. good luck. pete

Trying to control him like this, treating him like a child in effect, will only create resentment and anger. Talk to him about your concerns. Also, be specific about what you're concerned about. Is the problem that he's spending so much time on the computer, or that you'd like him to spend more time with you? Is he slacking off on housework to spend time on the Internet? Don't be confrontational, but let him know how you're feeling.

There isn't much you can do except talk to him and ask him to stop spending so much time on the computer or you can switch to dial up and have a limited amount of hours set up or you have to pay more money every month.

I think you need to talk to him about this. Outright blocking may cause more problems than you think. This is something you do to a child, not your mate. If he will not listen to you, then I think counseling may be the next step. Addiction is addiction and should be treated as such. I think your first step it to talk to him about this.

He is your husband, not your child. Talk to him like an adult. Don't go behind his back trying to block things.

You are his WIFE not his MOMMY, why don't you try having a civilized conversation with him before sending him to his room.
