If everything happens for a reason, and nothing is random, and God has his hands in everything, then shouldn't you be rejoicing that his will has, (once again, as with everything that happens,) been done?
In a related issue, regarding another way to look at it; It looks like even God is sick of Bush's modern day crusades, and placed some of his own checks in place for Bush's balances. Be happy that his will is finally in favor of displacing the regime that has been in power for over a decade.

Another point worth making, in response to so many people having a somewhat similar answer;
Yes, we all have free will. This is a given whether you are religious or not. But just because we have free will does not mean that each individual person's choice was collectively meant to add up to a change in Congress, correct? Also, I'd like to further point out that everyone who is calling liberals "evil" or whatever; Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. Beyond that, even, if you discount a single issues with which many people have mixed feelings, which is abortion; do Jesus' morals not align far closer to that of liberal people? They tend to accept that everyone is a child of God, and he loves us all equally. The irony is that republicans seem to think liberalism is evil, even though conservatism generally is the party of exclusion and judgement-casting. With all this said, how can so many christians be so self-righteous about their positivity that their party is God's fave?

I am sure that Christian Republicans do NOT see the results of this election as "God's Will", for the simple reason that man has been given "FREE will" which means that human beings can, and as you know, frequently do, go against what "believers" consider to be " God's Will " They very probably feel that the voting public simply aren't getting it; they're not completely understanding the issues, and the consequences of doing this as opposed to doing that. We'll see, won't we?

You may not want to count your chickens before they hatch. You are assuming a lot of things here. First, the democrats that got elected last night are fiscally and socially conservative. This is going to be a very interesting 2 years, as Nancy Pelosi stands to be the next Speaker of the House. She is very liberal and is going to have to deal with all of these conservative democrats along with all of the conservative republicans. One of the points I have heard brought up already is (the election isn't even 48 hours old yet), that the democrats are going to be involved with a huge power struggle with themselves. So say the political analysts I have heard so far.
Bush is still in the White House, therefore continuing to control foreign policy and what is happening in Iraq and around the world.
As President, nothing the democrats want will be done without Bush's approval. The democrats still do not have enough of a majority to over ride a presidential veto, or to bust a filibuster.
As far as I can see, the country has shifted to a more politically conservative position. I am one Christian Republican who is rejoicing greatly.

Yes, God does do everything for a reason. The reason here seems to be let's watch how horribly wrong the next two years go, then the GOP will win the presidency in 2008 in a landslide!

We are sad about the results because the door has been opened for the most vile desires amoung the people of this nation to be carried out, such as gay marriages, partial birth abortions, absolutely NO plan to deal with moslems[except to pat them on the head and release them from pow camps so they can continue their jhiad]. I tell you now young man that this nation is about to be judged for it's desigration of all things HOLY. We are sad because people like Nancy Peloci are bent on removing any mention of GOD from EVERYTHING. That is why GOD has allowed the democrats this victory. HE will not be mocked friend and this nation has mocked HIM too long. We Christians mourn for this nation when we see what is about to come upon it.

I'm sorry, you didn't phrase it in the form of a question...
Yeah, everything happens for a reason. Conservatives got slack and didn't get the truth out about the liberal parade of lies. They let some of their own fall to the wolves when they should have been confronted and handled, years ago.
No crusades here, pal. Unless you want one on our soil. Which is what will happen if we don't stop the march of Islam all over the world.

God also allows us free will...choices we make may not always be the best path. If it's God's will that we take a different course, then so be it. As persons, it is we who make government and judges and laws for humankind. We make our beds and have to lie in them. It is the suffering that all mankind was ment to endure.

You know, your question reminds me of a funny little anecdote that happened to me just yesterday. I I went to the polls to cast my vote in the Connecticut general elections at the Greene-Hills Elementary School. What do I see but a group of neoconservative Christians, all with big "Leiberman" signs. Leiberman, being a man of the Jewish faith, won the hearts of the Christians. Amazing. I went up to them and asked how they can support a democrat-turned-republican-turned-independent, and they said that he is a man of faith, and they approve of his opinions on the top 14 issues (war, hatemongering, anti-abortion, racism, etc etc etc). The lesson here? Jesus hates democrats. At least that's what I've come to find. I probably didn't answer your question, but I figured it might help you in finding your answer... to life.

"God is not the author of all He allows..."
It is NOT the Will of God, the God of the Christians.
But a blood soaked deity that demands death, mayhem, hell and the Grave and rewards murder and suicide...in the name of
"Holy War" with 72 Virgins, maybe He demands that behavior according to "His" prophet.
A Prophet of doom, death blood, bombs and Burkas cloth prisons for women and hate. That is his message..this is the Islam we see NOT the National Geographic version.

I am not happy nor unhappy about the elections. He knows the hearts of men and women. Therefore, yes, it was His will. And any true Christian will accept and trust His will . Nothing is done without His knowledge.

Well, in the book of Job, God let the devil mess with Job to test his faith in God...maybe this is the same thing.
Maybe God might be testing the faith of the American People by making them suffer through a Dem. congress.
BTW, I didn't vote for either Dems or GOP, GO INDEPENDENTS!!!!!!!!
