Yes racism still exists, but it is no longer limited to black and white nor is it the whites against the blacks. Now it is Blacks, Whites, Hispanics, Orientals, Native Americans, Arabs, etc. Some of each of these groups still think in terms of race when dealing with the others. But the part that really bothers me is that racism has become more acceptable again in certain parts of our population. After 9/11 Arabs are targeted, regardless of what country they come from or even if they are Muslim. Also racism exists in the immigration debate, the heart of the issue is that they are coming illegally, but they are dividing along racial lines too. If the illegals were coming from Canada and were white, English speaking some of us might feel differently about accepting them. We need to stop thinking in terms of labels, White, Black, Jew, Muslim, Egyptian, Mexican and start thinking in terms of people, how we are alike and what we have to offer, not our differences and what we can take.

i think some form of it exists or something like it to make people feel uncomfortable.
take for instance:
a young white couple living in the middle of the "ghetto" (only place they could afford to live and where the man worked). The man rarely got messed with but when he did it would turn into fights. Not really sure if it was because of race or not. But as for the girl she was so afraid to leave her house because the minute she walked out the door guys of all ages would start talking to her some in a flirting manner some in a not so flirting manner. such as "whats a little white girl doing all alone out here" that kind of thing. and getting worse. people touching her. stealing from her.making racial comments to her. giving her that look. she was just so scared to leave her house that if she had to leave the house she made sure she was always on the phone with someone so that if anything did happen someone would know.
so racism itself may not necissarily exist but...whatever that word is that i cant remember does still exist

Absolutely racism still exists and unfortunately it always will. We as Americans will never get passed it. I am a white woman and live in a prodominatly black city and here in my city most of the racism is toward white people.

Yes, racism does still exist and unfortunately it probably always will. People seem to forget that we were all created equal and by one divine power.

Of course it does. And until people wise up and quit being ignorant, closed minded, self-centered, egotistical, holier-than-thou idiots, it always will. And that's unfortunate. There's so much to be gained by befriending people of all races. Open you mind, open your heart and just be a descent human being. Life would be so much better. I promise you.
