I need to measure out 250g/8oz of salt to add to some clothes dye. Does any one have any idea what this amount of salt would be? Say half a cup full or something? I dont want to buy some scales just for this one thing!

Hi 1 level teaspoon is approximately 1oz so add 8 levels full. I was told this at school and still go by it myself now it does seem to work. Tonya

Find a canned good in kitchen that weighs 8 oz. and use it to compare the weight of 8 oz. of salt.Or simpler, get your measuring cup out and fill to 1 cup.

If you buy a 500g container of salt, then just pour in half!

Eight ounces is about one cup :)
