Don't look at the camera face on. Remember how in pictures in grade school, he'd always be like "tilt your head, look at the doll". It's for a reason. Looking straight on will make your nose look funky no matter how cute your nose is. So tilt your head a tiny bit, and turn your face away from the camera a tiny bit.

As for posture, if your standing, put one foot slightly ahead of the other with your knee slightly bent. This will make you look thinner.

I used to take horrible pictures too. Sounds cheesy, but if I think In my head about America's Next Top Model or say reassuring words to myself, it really helps.

I am not photogenic myself but, I noticed at certian photos I have a good angle. At first I thought it was that, but later on I realized that whenever I feel confident and beautiful inside that's when I look best in a picture taken. Let the confidence exude till it comes out as your natural aura. When you feel good, you look your best.... hope it works for you.

I've heard a few tips for good amateur photos. First, don't look directly in the camara lens, just a little bit off. Second angle your chin down just a little bit. Third, smile with your tongue behind your teeth. Hope this helps.

actually most people find that being natural when posing for a pic is usually the best way to go about it, cause if they dont it looks unnatural, uncomphortable, or a bit to exgaurated. I think just be yourself and any picture you have taken will reflect you beautifully.

make it unexpected. If you have a natural cuteness that doesnt come across well in photos then you are trying too hard to get the right shot.

be aware of your body and face. it also helps to be attractive and all that. i've worked for a while to get the perfect looks for pictures, but it pays off because EVERYONE tells me i photograph well. try looking in a mirror and figuring out what poses and faces look good and remember them.

with digital cameras its easy- just have a family member snap pictures till you find the "face" you like. just try not to blink at all -I've found an open mouth smile really shows my face better
