It seems to me that people posts questions and a lot of them bash the president. My question is, Why do you do this? Do you think that you could do any better in office? I mean, I don't agree with everything that he does, but I certainly am not going to say that he is terrible, and never does anything right. This is just my opinion, I just would like to know why everything he does is so wrong. I am sure that if Kerry was president, it would be just as bad.
Please don't answer if you are just going to critisize the question. I am asking this because I am curious. Thank you!

It's supposedly a question of leadership quality in one's perspective, and of course a reach for power.
In this case, the Dems have done a lot of pointing at problems but no real providing of solutions that I've heard. So, of course all you've heard is 'Bush is evil' instead of debate. Kinda kills the logic and rhetoric we use to value in the English language, but hey, this is what we've got to deal with right now.
Everything he does isn't 'wrong,' except in the eyes of those insisting on a reclaim of power, as if it were stolen from them... of course there are so many that actually believe it was stolen, which is conspiracy silliness that is beyond me.
Sometimes in life, in my opinion, people feel they need to speak in extremes to get what they want. I assure you, 20 years from now, we will look back at Bush's presidency with a certain amount of awe, trying to figure out how he kept all he has had to deal with together as well as he has. By then, he will not be the target of the 'enemy's leadership' and a more level headed view will be taken of who he is.
Hope that helps.

I can tell by context that you're talking about the United States. Not everyone on Yahoo answers is from your country, you know (I actually think this site is based in the UK), so you should refrain from using such general statements about "the president" without actually describing what country you're talking about.
American politics is largely based on name calling and personal insults. The average person isn't able to think more intelligently about our political system or our representatives, so they reduce it to the simplest terms possible (ie meaningless rivalry).
There are a lot of people in this country that don't like Bush (somewhere between 49 and 51% of voters), and right now this country is very bitterly divided over leadership. Things being the way they are, it will probably be the same with our next president.

Kerry would have been a better president. Bush is closed-minded, cold-war thinking. Most importantly, he surrounds himself with the wrong advisors. A person/president can only intake so much information in 24 hours, so he has to get that information from his "trusted advisors" - people that he trusts to bring him specialized information in different areas. These advisors and specialists would be very different for a democrat president than they are for the current guy. In my opinion, the main job of the president is to pick the right advisors, then do the right thing with the information they give you. Bush has failed in both of these. Iraq war is biggest problem of many that this has resulted in.

He has done pretty bad but I agree with you. It is hard to run the country and we can always say that he is stupid or he didn't do this right but we don't always know the circumstances either. I really don't think Kerry would have made a good president either. Let's just hope that eventually we can overcome all the problems.

I think he has done a horrible job. People are quick to point fingers at CEO's of big companies that go bad. Bush is the leader of this country. If things go wrong, it is his fault. When you take on the job of the presidency, you take blame for the decisions you make that go bad. That's part of the job. If he can't handle the criticism then he shouldn't have taken the job.
I am the President of my own company and guess what, in the end, if the company fails it's my fault. Regardless of the reason that it failed, it's my fault. I accept that and will take responsibility if that should ever happen.

George Bush is an incompetent idiot who has done everything in his power to lead us into a costly, unnecessary war, transfer wealth to the rich and whittle down the rights we were once promised in The Constitution. The dump I took this morning is more qualified to be president than that oafish enigma.

I agree with you... I think he's doing his best. I think people critisize him because they have nothing better to do than to blame him for all our problems. You know what gets me is how they rant and rave and say how terrible he is but as far as I can tell no one can come up with a better plan for anything. They all just want instant results.

Yes, even I could have done better than Bush in that office. But I understand your point. The Government is much more then one man, and now it is going to take debate and cooperation, and compromise.

I think Bush has done good things in AIDS, and a few other areas, but in all he has taken the USA in the wrong direction.
Your right, no matter who the president is, they will be criticized

America is a country with freedom of expression. This means we can and should speak our opinions of the performance of our elected government officials. How else would they know what the people want? In countries where people do not speak their minds, they have dictators who torture them.
