You don't need travel insurance if you are an american traveling to a country for less than 90 days. However if you wish to get a job in that country or live there for more than 90 days you probably will need it depending on what country you go to.

In some of the countries medical treatment is very expensive and tourists may not find it affordable. In such cases travel insurance will be big help.

in certain countries the medical expenses are high.also in some countries if you get an emergency you have to be air evacuated for good treatment.the cost and somebody have to accompany you.travel insurance takes care of everything as agreed in the policy.that also covers death and accetent.so if you are trvelling to some specic areas it is wise to have it with evacuvation cover

it covers against accidental loss damage, teft of possesions. It also covers medical cost should you become ill, and need treatment or need to be medically vacated to your owncountry. You do not ned it but it can be useful
