Well, I caught all the news one can without owning a TV, and I daresay "heavy" voter turnout for a midterm sounds like it just may have done the trick?
Eh?

Actually, I would say that the "winds of Bush" have scoured away the Gingrich Republican majority. This was almost 100% a vote against Bush and not the party. There is a silver lining for the Republicans that you might want to look at before you gloat too much. First, a lot of conservative issue propositions won nationwide. Second, the Democrats had to move right to win. If the Pelosi leftists try to browbeat us with hard left policy the next two years, control of both Houses may shift back. Third, the GOP is now rid of some of its lamest moderates like Lincoln Chafee. This could very well throw party control back to the Reaganite conservatives.

I don’t know why everyone is crying in their Kool-Aid about the Dems having a slight majority in the House. They don’t have a 2/3rds majority so they can’t do anything. The President has a veto pen to veto any bills that come across his desk and the Democrats do not have a 2/3rds majority to override His veto. Congress is going to be hopelessly deadlocked for the next two years….Hmmmm HOT DOG! THAT’S PROBABLY THE BEST NEWS I HAVE HEARD ALL DAY!!! If Congress can’t get anything done that means they can’t mess anything up!

Many people spoke the best way they could, at the polls. I hope many politicians take notice and not take the people for granted like they have the past five years. Hopefully, a Democratic Congress can reshape the country in a way that provides a better direction that voters can take pride in. Mr. Bush, tear down that wall.............
