I'd tell her you are too nervous around the dogs. She will need to kennel them.
My friend is a trained pet sitter and she just got out of the hospital with 30 stitches all over her face. She knows how to handle dogs, but dogs that are not well trained or have bitten before are a huge risk. Please don't do it!

If the dogs are already proven to be vicious - and biting the meter reader adn chasing the little boy would seem to indicate that - then I wouldn't recommend doing it.

And hopefully the police have been notified that she has a dangerous dog, and she is taking the proper precautions to keep the dogs secured.

Have her take them to a boarding kennel where the people there have the knowledge and ability to take care of them. Don't be a stranger on "their" turf when you're not sure you can handle them.

If you do end up dog-sitting, get IN WRITING the fact that if you are bitten by the dogs, she will pay for your medical bills.

Sorry, I'm just seeing this as a bad situation.

Those are huge dogs. Only say yes if you feel absolutely sure that you can handle them and that you will be safe around them. Sounds like they may be a handful especially if they have bitten others or attempted to bite. You are doing a disservice to your friend if you do not think you can handle them and you say that you will watch them. What happens if they would get away from you?

I would suggest kennelling the dogs for the week. I have two dogs weighing 85 pounds each and I always kennel the dogs when I'm gone. They are big and not everyone can handle big dogs. I would much rather pay to kennel them then to have them get away from whoever is watching them and be out on the streets for a week.

Life seems to get a little nuts at times...oh well..drastic circumstance call for drastic measures...consider putting them in a kennel for a day less than the week...um..I would only take friendship so far...good luck..

Tell your friend to put the dogs in a kennel for the week... and that your schedule will not allow you to properly attend to the dogs for that period...

They will be to much for you too handle and too dangerous. If he has any brains at all he will respect you for it. Have him take the dogs to a kennel. Personally he shouldn't have pitbulls, thay are dangerous.

Tell her your concerns, if shes a true friend she'll understand and not put you in the position of having to refuse her. Besides who would blame you? lol Good luck
