A ghost is someone who has not passed on to the other side.

A spirit (which is what mainly people see) is someone who has passed over.

I have seen both.

The ghost I saw was when I lived in Mulgrave (place in Melbourne, Australia) I was sitting up in bed with my husband and our bedroom door was open.
Out of nowhere a ghost who looked like he was anorexic walked through our bedroom door, the weird thing was that this 'thing' was carrying his head! He took no notice of my husband and I and just kept walking until he vanished into my dressing table. My husband was a non believer until that day!

I have seen many spirits. One spirit I see quite frequently is the spirit of a dearly departed friend of mine. The first time I saw him was on the night he died, he just stood next to me and kept saying sorry.

I can't claim to really believe in ghosts, but I have had a few experiences that defy explanation.
From 2001 until 2003 I lived a house built in 1893. Occasionally, while my wife and I were sitting in the living room downstairs, upstairs in our bedroom we would hear (and feel) something jumping on our bed. The thing would jump few times then fly off of the bed and hit the floor shaking the house, then would seem to run down the hallway and then nothing. No one else was in the house. This happened probably 6 or 7 times over about 6 months and then nothing.
Also during this time we had three or four LOUD thumps on the outside of the house as if a Boulder had hit it. Inspection of the house revealed nothing. It always occured outside a downstairs bathroom while someone was it there - it really was startling. That too stopped when the bed jumping stopped.

Late 90's going home after working night shift at GM parts plant in Athens, alabama. Took river road to avoid traffic, was foggy and mid October, made my turn to head home and had to stop truck to allow a mule drawn wagon loaded with picked cotton and driven by a white haired old ***** man to cross road in my front.

Wagon was strange with the front wheels several sizes smaller than the rear and all four mules were either gray or white. I swear the old man looked at me and smiled.

Was shaking from the experience and had to down two bourbons and diet cokes just to get back together.

The next day, still shook by the experience I spoke to long time local resident who told me I had seen "Old Joe" and I would be lucky till I died since he smiled my way.

My hubby i believe is a haunted person, weired things happen around him (unexplainable) He has tons of stories that are very scary, to me and alot of the people who have been around him at the time of the occurrences. My only definite proof that i can say that i believe was a "Ghost" is when my daughter was about 5, we where at my sisters house. Since we where visiting she was clicking pics left and right. Well the the pic where developed there was some weird stuff in them. Like in one pic shes sitting in a chair and what i can only explain as a Face is looking up at her. it seems to be coming through the floor. In another pic her face isn't her face. its kinda freaky, but trust me no freakier than anything my hubby has seen or heard. I believe he is haunted because he is open to them, His mother died when he was about 13 and he wants desperately for her to come to him, and in doing that he is open to alot of ghost.

dont know if it was a ghost or imagination, but one night I woke up and was just frozen and thought I saw the drawstring to my mini blinds spinning. I thought I was still half asleep and imagining but then my dog stood up on the bed and started barking in the direction of the string. That is all. I dont want to see. I think it would freak me out too much.

Ever since I can remember they visit me. All types. Fortunately none are harmful. I seem to be a kind of portal for them to reach out. I have heard, felt, seen and lived with them. They don't tend to come into my home any more but my 2 1/2 year old says things like she sees them too.

in white oak tx there is a haunted apt building. I lived there for a year. Apparently it was a teenager who tripped and fell down the fire escape when he lived there and now he likes to irritate the people who live in his old apt (the one I rented)
He would stack beer cans in weird pyramids and shapes in the kitchen after parties, would run up and down the fire escape for all hours of the night, turn the lights on during the night, write on the mirror while you were in the shower...CREAKY pest!
I was 18 and young then, and apparently he like me best, he would take my panties and bra from the bathroom while I was getting ready, would throw the towels on the floor when i got out of the shower...he was a perv.

I didn't see one,but I believe there was a presence in my house one night. My daughter was expecting her first child & we had bought a baby swing when she was about six months pregnant, brought it home and leaned it up against the wall in her room(still in the box)! About two months passed and I was home alone.I had woken up in the middle of the night,as I often do and was sitting on the couch smoking a cigarette when that swing started playing frerre jaques.I was a bit scared to say the least, but I didn't budge from my seat.My mom used to sing that song to us and her other grandchildren before she died.I was very close to my mama, and was devestated when she died.Alot of times I will talk to her.Sometimes its just to say I love & miss her other times it is to ask what should I do in certain situations.etc. Oddly enough my first grandchild was born on her birthday. Also another strange thing is when I wake up in the middle of the night the clock will be on the same numbers alot like 2:22,3:33,4:44 etc.Is that just coincidintal?,or is something or someone waking me up? I sure would like to know.

Well last Dec 10th my Mom passed away........so anyway one evening I was sitting on my sofa in my Living room, and I caught a glimpse of my Mom,she was dressed in white and I felt her,she only stayed visable for a moment....what really impressed me was,I knew it was her instantly, and I knew she was trying to tell me something and its like she told me ,but not with her mouth,it was a thought, she was unhappy because its like she caught me and was fussing at me for smoking...Iwas smoking a cigarette.I really can,t express how i knew, but i just knew, its like that she was telling it to my mind,if that makes sense... also a bunch of years ago, can,t remember just how long now,but I was asleep and my back was to the door so I could not see,but my Dad came and stood by my bed,I knew it was him and I knew he was telling me goodbye,I can,t understand how i knew ,I just knew. The next morning a hospital called and told me that My Dad died.I ask when and it was about the same time he came next to my bed............so this is the only experience that I have had....
