Do you mean Britain??? I didn't so I moved to France. It's full of takers...sorry to generalise but that's how I saw it. As a single mother of 2 due to my partners inless...there was bearly any help for me. I had 6 school runs a day 1 in nursery on in primary. this took up nearly all my weekly money on petrol...I got told I was better off on benefits...I wasn't offered /couldn't find any local help to persaude me otherwise, all day care facilties were full. Believe me I tried..I have worked solid since I left school right up until I had my kids, then my partner became ill...I had him to care for and the kids. I was on the waiting list for a house for 3 years...although if you were from another country coming over to work housing was handed to you on a plate. Totally p***** off with the UK and the way it is going.

Do you mean why DO people like living in BRITAIN? If so, well there are loads of things I dislike about it, mainly ALL of the decisions made by the corrupt government. However, it's not a bad old place. At least it provides an NHS (unlike MANY other countries-although this could be set to change!!) The countryside and coastline is beautiful, it's easy to get your hands on a nice cup of tea and fluffy, soft toilet roll unlike many other countries- you know who you are! We don't pee into holes in the floor- again, you know who you are!! And we don't have huge extremes in weather conditions (yet!) Oh, and we have the best soap operas!! And old people serve up a great slice of battenburg! Oh, and I think we have the best sense of humour in the world!!

britain is made up of 4 different countries. England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland! (i know of lot of u.s. citizens don't know that)
Britain is not Great Britain anymore, it has lost it. we have sold our souls to anyone that wants to come on in and take all for free.
the hardworking middle classes that run the country, aren't allowed a penny off the state, but anyone that wants to not work, be a junky or live for free without even learning our language! can live a lovely life in our old blighty!
the weather here is the worst in the world! soooo expensive, such high taxes to top it off.
the best things are biscuits (cookies) crisps (chips) chips (fries)
Sky digital tv (cable) and the fact that when you are in a restaurant, you can't here an englismen and everything he says across the room.
britain! remember the wars that we have won, remember our history, when we protected our boundaries from virtually all (but romans) enemies. why are we just laying down the swords now?
bring on the revolution!!

People who aren't British like to live here because of all the free hand-outs from the government. Equally, people who are British and live on council estates but would prefer to spend all day in bed, though they still need vital funds for fags and drugs etc. like living here because the government pays for all their expenses. Muslim terrorist trainees like to live here because our police are hampered by political correctness and can't risk offending them by actually making an arrest.

The only people who don't like living here are white, middle class hard working folks. We pay for all of the other people to just party on in their own style, and then we get shafted by the government with even more taxes for our trouble.

Because anyone from abroad that wants to move here gets everything free or on the cheap..they look after them more then they do there own people. How many british people dont have jobs (the ones thats really want to work!) and they come here and snap em up amoung other things. Some expect us to be socially acepting of there culture differance but when its ours own they want nothing to do with it! wrong as you like!
Why dont we look after our own first that need help support etc! crazy world!

Because they love the extremes of weather, the high level of taxes, the corrupt government, driving on the left, and all the other things that make life so agreable on an island separated from other detestable nations.

I think you mean "Why do people like living in Britain?" and to answer your question, it's the same reason people like living in America.

I was born in great britain and am a patriot. I love my country with a passion and will readily fight for it's values and land. That's why I joined the RAF.

I personally see emigrating as desertion anyway, so I'll never leave.
