Republicans. The other lot represent failed capitalists who are trying to achieve power through the only other route available to them. They convince the people that they are victims of capitalism, turn them into victim groups, then convince them that they can save them from the nasty Republicans. The dumbos believe this and then they vote Democrat. Sad, but true.

Up to this precise moment (1515 GMT) it would seem that the Democrats are better in the eyes of a significant number of the USA population.
By the way, the 'answerer' who said it depends on whether you like capitalism or socialism, clearly has never done an in depth study of socialism! In most other western countries, an American Democrat would be so right wing as to be (metaphotically speaking) touching Ghengis Khan's coat tails! :- )
Anyway, _every_ nation needs a change from time to time, otherwise you might as well be living in a dictatorship.... of which a tiny element of this exists in the American political system since, by using his veto, a President can ride roughshod over the wishes of the democratically elected representatives of the people. Interesting that, don't you think?

The fact of the matter is that both (or in other cases all) parties are required, this is what is supposed to create a smooth system with checks and balances and keeps one side from totally obliterating the wishes of the other.
That being said I would say that I prefer a liberal left leaning goverment. I use this phrase rather than Dems since I am a Canadian. (I was however glued to my couch last night, and only only got up to pop the cork when it came time!!) Liberals/Dems/whatever are interested in the rights of all, even when they seem absurd (as long as not harmful to others) whereas to me it often seems like the republicans/rights/whatever are more interested in enforcing their agendas and beliefs rather than those of everyone.

1. Last night was not historical. There is always a swing to the opposition party in the sixth year of an administration.
2. My life is not worse than it was 6 years ago, it is better, as is yours. ("It's the economy, stupid." - James Carville)
3. Republicans are better. Better on moral issues, better on spending.

Instead of throwing pots and pans in bashing up one another while little children at loss and crying out there in planet of apes.
At loss with our creator's universal gifts of life vital for their own survival and advancement on planet earth.
The dirty old men in office had taken the "Spoils of the war" back in world war two and not giving it to their own children at loss living in misery in planet of apes.
After the election will see who can clean up the mess in planet of apes.

neither, did you notice, quite a few independants made great showings. i think the "two" need to adjust, or indi's will keep picking up steam. the right's plan isn't working, and the left's plan is sooo bad that they won't even camaign on it. what's a voter to do? look, listen, read and vote independant. i don't see it continuing to be a "waste".
