There must be some reason that region has slanted eyes. Maybe the sun and wind makes it neccessary... Notice that Northern Europeans have slightly slanted eyes also, esp. Norwegians and Finnish.

In my CIV101 class we learned that Chinese people have squinty eyes because back in the beginning of time china and the other nations surrounding it was covered with ice. The glare of the sun would have caused eye damage so through natural selection and over a series of generations their eyes became more slanted for protection.
And the reason why black people have such dark skin is the fact that back in the beginning Africa of course was even hotter than it is today. The rays of the sun would have caused skin disease to the entire population leading to death. So again through natural selection and over a series of generations Africans skin became dark to protect them from the Sun's harmful rays.

I believe The Burmese race just like the chinese originated from mongolians which at one point only lived near or close to the artic, together with what most people call The Esquimos. Because of the freezing temps their eyes evolved and adapt if you will and in order to survive total blindness and subsequently death, turned slanted.

That's just how they look. It really is genetics because i'm part chinese and I have those kind of eyes too. That's cool though it's what makes them distinctive

Because they have a little different genes in the area of their DNA that describes the shape and behaviour of the eyes.
