It could just be swelling glands or something to do with water retention but if it's lump-ish you should get it checked out by a doctor.

I've had 1 before but it soon went down, another one i had grew a white head...so it was from shaving...to do with hairs or something.
I wouldn't RUN to your doctor (you might hurt yourself doing so) and i doubt your doctor will give you x-rays and so on. I've had 2 lumps in my throat for months, all my doctor did was send me for a blood test. These lumps and bumps pop up every nown and again... apparently. I read a good article in a magazine from a health shop - holland and Barret's. It was really good and explained things, its worth buying a book or something for the future.
Anyway I'm no expert...but just check it out at the doctors and don't stress tooooo much. Get it checked out then you can relax. If you can let us know what happens. Good luck :) and keep smiling!

This is a hormone thing. I also get a lump under my arm and thinking it was serious I went to my GP who said that it was gland and it was sensitive around my period. Just keep an eye on it and if you notice it is there for longer than usual, go see your doctor.

Most women get this pain around the time of their periods. It's hormonal and also due to water retention. If you feel uneasy about the lump,by all means see your GP to put your mind at ease.

It sounds very much like fibroid tissuse, completely harmless but painful around the time of your periods. I would suggest seeing your G.P to be on the safe side put your mind at ease and while you're there get something for the pain.

This will be a swollen gland due to your periods. Remeber that you can get swollen breasts, which can cause swollen glands at the side, under the arm pit. Simple hormone treatments that can br prescribed by your doc may help subside this uncomfortable side effect

Don't panic yet. it could be a swollen lymph node, which could happen during your period, but it could also be a sign of something else. You should make an appointment with your doctor, so he can send you in for x-rays, sonograms, or something to find out what exactly this is. I know your scared and anixous, but if you want to live then RUN to your doctor.
