Oh, I'm disappointed, but not shocked. We know that the tides of power shift in this country, for better or worse, but at no time should anyone give up hope that we can as a whole be better. I don't agree with Dem policies and initiatives 95% of the time, but the American people who voted have asked that these people be given a chance again. I think domestically this will mean... a new social program here, gridlock over it there, etc, etc. But all things to debate in the near future (at least we are not shooting each other over the results!)
Regardless of the situation, all should remember, we are a country about peaceful exchanges of power. And as I mentioned in other posts, we needn't forget that is a blessing in itself.
Of course, it's time to start working on that next election....! ;-)

Have you been living under a rock? For six years there's been nothing but waste and corruption in Washington. With no balance between the house and Senate, and no oversight, the special interests have run up a record 8 TRILLION dollars in national debt - despite the fact that Clinton reduced the debt every year he was in office.
If you want control over spending, you never want the President, Senate and house to be from the same party. Now that some balance and oversight has been restored, we have a good chance of getting big government under control, ousting the special interest groups and the graft and corruption, and finally getting America back on track.
Remember the addage "power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely". It is NEVER good for the country to have a single party government.

I think the overall vote was good. The repb. seemed to forget other people live in this country too......not just repb. or one party. They were just reminded of that fact. When making decisions at least make the appearance of trying to take everyones position in to account and not just the ones that agree with you. Why do you think Bill Clinton is so popoular with the American people? He makes the effort to let all citizens know he cares about them and what is inportant to them.

The American people have gone downhill since WWII. Now, they do not want enemies killed or tortured, and they want to surrender to the enemy, when he kills a few soldiers. Bah!
