x + (x + 1) = 457
2x + 1 = 457
2x = 456
x = 228
So the pages are 228 and 229

Are you home schooled? If not, why are you home right now?
Just curious.
I'm an adult who is math-challenged, but I still found the answer to your question by doing simple estimating. I looked at the total (sum) and took a guess that the two pages would be 225 and 226. I went up from there. It took me three tries to get the right answer. The point is, even someone like me with very little in the math skills department was able to figure this problem out, just by spending less than two minutes TRYING.
Please do yourself a big favor and do the same. I'M not trying to get a passing grade - YOU ARE.

228 & 229
Take 457 divide it by 2 you get 228.5.
It is also important to state that the book started with page number one on the right hand page towards or at the beginning.

they're consecutive pages so their web page numbers decision by 1 million. enable x = the smaller web page decision. This makes the different equivalent to x + a million. x + x + a million = seventy 3 2x = seventy 2 x = 36 x + a million = 37 The web page numbers are 36 and 37.
