First of all you do need DDR2 PC4200. You do NOT however have to install in pairs, let me say that again sense that other incorrect answer said so, you DO NOT have to install in pairs. Here is a good price for a 512 stick:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820141514
Now if you want the RAM to run in dual channel mode, which is faster, you need to have identical pairs, so you might wanna get two of these. But you do not HAVE to install in pairs.

The type of memory you need is DDR2 SDRAM also called (PC2 4200). The speed of the memory is 533Mhz. The memory needs to be installed in pairs. Prices will range from 40.00 to 100.00, depending on the brand and who you purchase from. I would suggest Corsair, Mushkin, OCZ, or Adata. They are excellent quality and have lifetime warranties.

If you want to add 512Meg to your existing memory, you should first make sure you have two slots available. If so then you can buy either 2-256Meg modules or if you have, say 256Meg already and want to increase up to 512 you would need to buy 2-128Meg modules. EIther way you will need to buy them in pairs.

Here is a link to Newegg.com, they have great prices on memory and ship fast.
