Obviously, no one on Yahoo Answers went along on your school field trip, so, no one here can give you any specifics for your article.

So far as format is concerned, think of a snappy-sounding "headline" for your story. Buy a newspaper or two today and look at the way the articles in a real newspaper are set up. It's pretty much like a regular essay - there's a beginning, a middle, and an end (but not a "conclusion"-sounding one).

Newspaper articles always stress the five things all people want to know - the who, the what, the where, the how, and the why. If you can cover all five of those points, you'll be able to compose a good article.

Make sure it is neatly typed, is spell-checked, and contains proper sentence structure. If there are quotes from anybody, make sure to include proper punctuation. And last, but not least, learn your lesson about putting off assignments till the last minute. This will backfire almost every time. Good luck!

Start out your article with a catchy sentence. Keep it short and if it is supposed to be featured as news make sure to use quotes by people who were there. Just summarize the events and throw in a few quotes by fellow students.

Start with your lead...make it sound exciting and catchy. You need a source for each paragraph of your article, but because it is not a news story, you can use phrases like explained, added, remarked, and concluded, rather than said. Once you start, It will become easier. Let me know if you need more help. Do you use AIM? If so contact me through that...sn=Sashullichka

I'd suggest you interview a variety of people who went on the trip. Ask them what was the most fun thing you did and what things they didn't like. More importantly, ask them WHY they did or didn't like the trip. Use a variety of quotes from the students who went to make your article more interesting.
