I don't know what you mean by legalizing gay rights. I think most thinking people want all Americans to have the same rights, period. Heres a list (not at all comprehensive) of rights that married people have. Gay people cannot get married, and therefore do not have these rights.
-Filing joint income tax
-Creating a "family partnership" under federal tax laws, which allows you to split business profits among family members.
-Exemptions from gift and estate taxes for spousal property.
-QTIP,QDOT, and marital deduction trusts.
-Obtaining priority if a conservator needs to be appointed for your spouse.
-Inheriting a share of your spouse's estate.
-Receiving social security, medicare, and disability benefits for spouses.
-Receiving veterans and military benefits for spouses, including those for education and medical insurance.
-Taking family leave during a spouse's illness.
-Receiving wages and workers compensation for a deceased spouse.
-Visiting your spouse in a hospital intensive care unit during restricted visiting hours.
-Making medical decisions for an incapacitated spouse.
-Making burial arrangements.
-Applying for joint adoption, joint foster care, or stepparent adoption.
-Joint division of property upon divorce.
-Custody rights, child support.
-Living in neighborhoods zoned for "families only."
-Receiving family rates for insurance.
-Sueing a third person for wrongful death.
-Claiming the marital communications privilege.
-Receiving crime-victims recovery benefits.
Trust me...the list goes on.

Can't visit our partners if they are dying in the hospital or make any decisions regarding their care...because we are not classified as immediate family.
IN the case of death of one of the partners..the relatives can (and often have) swooped down and claimed everything ..leaving the surviving partner without even so much as a picture.
Our income tax forms are different...we can't realize the same savings that opposite sex couples can.....
these are just off the top of my head..because I'm canadian and same sex marriage is legal here..I've forgotten a lot and I'm not sure how the others apply to american laws...but these 3 are a good start.

I feel you simply need to be informed approximately the area. It'll support you win your case. If they are trying to convey up God and say that homosexuality is flawed given that of God. Then you need to ask what's God to distinctive folks given that there is plenty of distinctive religions and notion procedures and I consider that it is reasonable to mention that plenty of them even Christianity is not anything however notion. You can see the consequences that faith has had on our society now not simplest with being gay. The therapy of ladies and discrimination towards the races; slavery. That's like a entire different challenge. You can seem at our society and spot the end result that homophobia has on homosexual folks. How such a lot folks who're towards homosexuality relatively don't seem to be trained at the area. They realize that homosexuals exist however their notion is often flawed. Personally, I think that it doesn't matter what faith or state legislation says homosexuality will nonetheless exist given that it is in our nature. It's aside of our genetics. There's households with greater than a million homosexual or bisexual household member. Some households have gay twins even. Then there is the problem of figuring out that you are homosexual from a tender early life. Gay Virgins who realize that they're drawn to the equal-intercourse even earlier than they interact in intercourse. Then there is the MISCONCEPTIONS approximately homosexuality. Some folks consider that in case you allow a boy play with a doll he's going to become homosexual. You'll need to holiday all the ones misconceptions approximately how anybody finally ends up being homosexual.

I don't want "gay rights" I want EQUAL rights. I want to be able to do the same things straight people do, like join the military, marry, adopt w/my partner, etc. These aren't "special" rights we want, unless you say that since LGBTQIs don't have them they are "special rights" that only straight people have.
WHICH IS WRONG!!!!!!!

Yes I think gays should be allowed to marry, to have(or adopt) children, to live where they wish and to be free of old fashion prejudices that still are on the books today.

What is a gay right?
I want the right to live my life with my partner with out worrying that my family will kick him out of our home or his family will kick me out of our home if one of us dies. I also want the right to make medical decisions for him and he for me in a medical emergency.
I want the same tax breaks that married folks enjoy for me and my partner. I want the ability to live with out fear of discrimination making my life difficult. I want protection in my workplace and in society against attacks based on my sexual orientation.
Nothing gay about it I just want the same rights as anyone else has.
