Honestly, on those occasions when it's happened, the woman has to pretty much hit me upside the head with a 2x4 before I get the point.
I guess I just assume they're being nice/friendly and don't read anything more into it.

yes and when they do its really funny to hit them back harder and leave a mark so they know who their messing with....
yes most of the time people make it too damn obvious so there really is not mystery or fun in it anymore
